This rugged herbal lip balm is about as far as any lip product can get from shiny, sticky gloss. The fresh-scented salve is soft and even a little chunky thanks to natural ingredients like cocoa butter and sweet almond oil. Together they work to keep lips smooth, hydrated, and protected through the toughest chapping conditions.
The product itself doesn't do much for me. I have some big lips, and I rely on a chapstick that does the job. I found the consistency of this particular product too... thick. It just didn't seem to apply to my lips effectively.1
Didn't like the scent. Didn't like the taste. Gave it to my wife, and she thought it was great. She can have it.1
It is to soft and just crushes when you use it -- burts bees works better and costs half the price1
I feel like I get a chapstick every other month. Even if I DID use chapstick, I can't fathom needing that much lip balm. Additionally, no one needs a $7 lip balm. While this product smells nice and has a good texture, chapstick is chapstick, and ChapStick, Burt's Bees, and Carmex have nailed it, and for a much cheaper price. Pass.1
the consistency of the lip balm leaves little pieces on my lips and I end up wiping most of it off as a result. I do like the scent though.2
Opening this up and trying it for the first time, it went okay at first. Went on a little greasy, and with a slight tingle. Pretty high-end scent. This turned into buzzing, then throbbing. Unreadable on the packaging, but now apparent on the product page, it contains almonds; which I am allergic to.
Not Birchbox's fault, but would have been nice to know beforehand, like on the packaging. Besides the slight greasy texture to it, it seems like a pretty luxe product! Just not for those with tree nut allergies like myself.
I already have so many to choose from, what makes this one different? Plus, it's kind of expensive...2
fine product, but not remarkable for me. try it for yourself, but this product is not going to make its way into my routine full time.2
I prefer the "Yes to" brand lip balm I received in another Birchbox subscription. This is just OK to me, I don't particularly like the citrus scent. I prefer the minty kinds. It dried out kinda quick on my lips.3
While I do enjoy the scent of the lip balm, it seems to be always slightly melted, and sticky to put on. Just trying to barely touch it to my lips leaves a large glob that I then have to try to spread out with my finger. Other brands don't seem to have this problem when used in the same manner as this one.3
