This rugged herbal lip balm is about as far as any lip product can get from shiny, sticky gloss. The fresh-scented salve is soft and even a little chunky thanks to natural ingredients like cocoa butter and sweet almond oil. Together they work to keep lips smooth, hydrated, and protected through the toughest chapping conditions.
My husband got this in his box and LOVES it. He never uses chapstick, but he's been carrying this around with him in his pocket since he got it. I actually like it too. It's subtle and feels good on your lips.5
Opening this up and trying it for the first time, it went okay at first. Went on a little greasy, and with a slight tingle. Pretty high-end scent. This turned into buzzing, then throbbing. Unreadable on the packaging, but now apparent on the product page, it contains almonds; which I am allergic to.
Not Birchbox's fault, but would have been nice to know beforehand, like on the packaging. Besides the slight greasy texture to it, it seems like a pretty luxe product! Just not for those with tree nut allergies like myself.
I tried this one and it smells good but didnt impress me too much. I might be biased though because I don't really have an overall appreciation for lip balm. I use it daily (when I remember to) and thats about it. I'm glad I received it in my box but I am not sure if I would go out of my way to purchase this over a cheaper one at the drug store.3
I'm a huge sucker for lip balms. I have an obscene amount of lip balms. In my bags, on my night stands, in my bathroom, at work, etc. There's never a time when I am unable to find a lip balm. So it's always nice to try a new one, especially one as good as this.4
I love receiving different brands of chapsticks from Birchbox. Usually I buy Burt's Bees because of the minty flavor, but I find it not to be as moisturizing as I'd like, esp. when the climate becomes more dry and cold. This product is superb for moisturizing dried, chapped lips and it's a perk that it's natural + minty. Def. interested in their other products.4
This was an excellent product. I go up into the mountain a lot in the winter and this product keeps my lips hydrated.5
Received the mint one to try; nothing special. I don't normally use lip balm so the wife took it to use. She seems to like it.4
This product functions as well or better than my other lip balms. However, I'm not a huge fan of the scent/flavor. It starts out very pleasant verging on elegant, but the lingering flavor is along the lines of artificial fruit flavoring or that of a very bright wheat beer.4
This stuff was nice and all, but definitely not worth the high price tag. I am a big lip balm person, and I would much rather go with Burt's Bees or something similar. Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the smell.3
Great balm, smooth on. Doesn't give glossy or greasy look. Absorbs and moisturizers.4
