Who needs something newfangled when the classics work so well? This down-home shaker, fabricated from a Mason jar and stainless-steel fixtures, is a simple way to drink blue-ribbon cocktails at home. A true man's alternative to that trendy “prohibition-inspired” spot down the street, it'll mix an Old Fashioned just as well as a Cosmo—and does the job with an unassuming cool and a sturdy reliability that even your grandpa can appreciate.
This piece looks great on my bar and is definitely fun / different. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that it is a little bit more of a show piece than a functional shaker.
Taking it apart is a bit cumbersome and I've had some issues with the lid being a bit leaky / drippy when I open it up, but overall still a cool piece.
I got this a while back and used the simple syrup's that came with it. It was a nice novelty for a while, but i realized that I'm more of a non-shaken type of drinker. Then, I used it for storage, which is wonderful. Every morning I drink a protein shake that I add chia seeds to. I filled this with the chia seeds, and shake them into my shake each morning. It's great for when you buy your chia in bulk.5
I bought this about 10 months ago and have refrained from reviewing until I gave it a few good tries. The very first time I used this (for a martini) it leaked all over my hand... Disappointment. Then, I couldn't get the cap off. It was basically frozen on, because the cold ice caused it to shrink. I finally just had to screw off the top and dump my drink through a slotted spoon. Classy. After many attempts over the months, I've found that if I shake this back and forth instead of up and down (I hope that makes sense, basically I just don't let the liquid and ice get near the cap) then you can still remove the cap. If you are like me and prefer a really cold martini with ice shards, sorry, you can either have the ice or you can get the cap off.... not both. Also, if you don't completely disassemble this immediately after use, it rusts. I'm talking like the next morning there is rust on it. Just go buy a regular martini shaker from a nice liquor store.3
I received this shaker and love it - opened the box and made a fabulous Margarita for me and Martini for friend ..
It looks fabulous on the bar... and it's so pratical and just too cute. LOVE IT!
Number one reason this rocks? My fiance loves it and makes me cocktails in it! Number two reason - easy to clean! Number 3 - ADORBS. Number 4 - Um, it makes cocktails, people. Love love love. Simple and brilliant. An instant classic!5
I was so excited when this adorable home & kitchen product joined the Birchbox shop! I put myself on the waitlist after wanting this shaker as a Birchbox plus item, and have been so pleased with it ever since. My at-home bar cart has been improved immensely!5
I got this with the birchbox plus option this month with the syrups! I love it! So cute and handy!5
I am a total country girl so I love this and can't wait to use it with my friends. The packaging was nice and the shaker is great.5
I am excited about this shaker. It is sturdy and makes drinks one of a kind, I made Mojito's on it.5
Seems like a great product - but spent a lot of time trying to pry the lid open to no avail. Even solicited bartender friend help - it's shut solid. Great idea - execution a bit lacking. Hot water - oil - I've tried everything but WD402
