If you bottled up the scent of late-night jazz on the bayou, it would be a dead ringer for Smoke. This New Orleans-inspired fragrance uses vetiver grass as the base for an illustrious, earthy aroma. Each batch is handmade with an array of natural oils, and packaged in re-claimed cypress vessels for an unmistakable presence.
Sadly I was not happy with this product. My boyfriend and I have been searching for a similar product under the same name that was discontinued several years ago. Unfortunately, this product did not meet the mark and left him smelling like the cedar bedding that lines a guinea pig cage.1
I am a perfumista:
This stuff is nasty. I purchased a sample, and it is not even worth buying a sample, let alone an entire 9ml bottle. It just smells like a lame mix of essential oils. There is nothing exciting about it, and it doesn't smell at all like smoke. Lots of icky hippy jasmine. Yuck, yuck, yuck. The website is nice, the marketing material is nice, the product is inferior. PASS.
I consider myself a cologne.. freak. I own lots and lots. Reading the reviews, I was SO EXCITED to try this out.
What a disappointment. As cool as the container it came in is, this stuff is horrible. When I first opened the box, all I could smell was, Christmas tree mixed with Vicks VapoRub. Once I took the cover off to expose the roll-on, it was powerful! (and was leaking).
I was immediately turned off to this. But, as you should know, you need to apply the cologne to yourself and have it mix with your own essence and see what happens. After a bit, it mellowed out to the scent of what I can only describe as a lubricated prophylactic. Who the heck wants to go around smelling this? I don't even know where I would wear this. I got a good deal for this but was considering returning it. I'm just gonna give it a go and see what people say, if anything. My main concern is having friends (or whoever I'm courting) telling me I smell bad, or "interesting". I definitely do not recommend this.
It's a mysterious fragrance that meets and exceeds the product description offered! I often use it when I'm feeling like I want to have control of the evening and it always get's noticed! When you find yourself reordering it, you will know that your hooked!!!5
I've been wanting to get this for my husband for a while, and I'm so glad I did. It's very high quality. The scent is fascinating and unique. We went to dinner at a Thai place and I could smell his scent over the curry - now that's high quality! We'll probably be getting this again. LOVE.5
I stumbled upon this perfume at a shop in my neighborhood and haven't stopped thinking about it since! The smell is great and not too harsh.5
This is by far my favorite accent fragrance! I use it along with other fall and winter scents that I have. It blends so well with other musky & spicy fragrances! BUY THIS ONE!5
I love this. It smells like it's supposed to, like a campfire dressed in an Armani suit (classy but rustic). The scent smells like smoke, but not in the overpowering way that you get from an actual fire. It's office-appropriate and not overpowering if you don't overuse it. The packaging is also beautiful and clever.5
I am just loving this SMOKE perfume oil! I can see myself using it in the winter and fall, as well. It pairs in a lovely way with other more floral scents. I love it with Harvey Prince Imperial Gardenia. This will be a staple for me in my fragrance wardrobe.5
This is not for everyone. But, after a sample came in my very first Birchbox a few months ago, I can't leave the house without this. Smoke is a really unique scent and I've received a ton of compliments when I wear it. It changes gradually throughout the day and is appropriate for work or going out.
