Growing a beard is easy. Actually living with your bushy facial thatch is where things get hairy. This all-natural tonic contains nourishing essential oils of jojoba and hazelnut to condition your beard and the skin beneath. Lending it shine and softness, plus a fresh and woodsy scent, this formula effectively smooths things over with your scruffy companion.
Beard oil is gross. This product seemed less greasy than other beard oils but I still hate that gross feeling that beard oil gives you. My beard is just fine without it.1
I have used only one other beard oil - the Mr.Natty's Frank Beard Elixir. I tried this one because you get a much larger amount for the price. Also, a lot of the reviews were, for the most part, positive. Allow me to shift the balance a little.
This oil has one redeeming quality. The cedar and bergamot smells amazing -----in the jar. The smell, as it lingers througout the day, doesnt maintain well. However, my biggest gripe with this product is it didnt sink into my skin as well as i would have liked and it left my beard quite greasy. Now, i know different body chemistries will react differently to the smell and absorbtion but I can honestly say that I dont like this particular product. I will try others as im adventurous and dont settle for not knowing if there is a better product out there. For this one, though....it's a definite no.
I have tried other oils before and this one does not make my beard soft plus the Sage scent in it is very strong and it actually makes your beard smell like moisture and moss, not a good scent to have. I will be returning.2
I really like this product, but it made me break out. If it didn't make me break out I would love this product.2
It seems like everything that is available for beards has the same smell. I am not at all fond of the piney or woodsy smell that they all have. My wife absolutely hates the smell, and of course, she has the last say.2
maybe i haven't used it long enough but seemed to not be very effectual.2
I've tried a few other beard oils through the BB samples so I became a fan rather than using pomade or conditioner that leaves me with a white residue. This oil smelled like Palo Santo smells IN THE BOTTLE but on the skin throughout the day stated to smell of gasoline or some type of mechanic workshop. I had to mix tangerine oil with this for a better smell. overall it does work for skin but I have yet to get the soft hair as of yet.3
It seems to do an okay job hydrating and soothing, but I think it smells just a little funny. Probably wouldn't purchase.3
This is my first beard tonic and it won't be my last. I did enjoy the smell of Herbivore but it was fleeting. After I had massaged it into my beard I literally couldn't smell a thing, and I hadn't even gotten to putting on any cologne or other fragrant products. As far as conditioning and beard texture I think it does a great job, my beard feels hydrated and healthy. I just want something that I am going to be able to smell.3
This is the 3rd beard conditioner I've tried (Billy Jealousy Beard Control and Beard Buddy Beard Oil are the other two). I prefer the scent of the Billy Jeaousy, and the Beard Buddy Oil seemed to be a better softening agent. I just couldn't tell I had this tonic in and it didn't seem to spread evenly.3
