Using your teeth to open a beer bottle displays your skills and resourcefulness, except that it’s almost guaranteed to result in a trip to the dentist. Better to wield a piece of clever craftsmanship like this bottle opener. With a streamlined design, the opener has a built-in magnet that keeps caps from going flying and also lets you affix it to your fridge so it’s there when you need it.
I got this in my birchbox, and it's a main staple for me. I got the red, but is totally orange. The magnet on the backside allows it to stick on the refrigerator ready to go for when I need to open a fresh beer. The functional side is great. The nail pulls the cap off without bending it, and the magnet holds onto the bottle cap instead of it flying into a corner or whatnot. You can totally re-use the bottlecap too. If I don't finish a beer or ant other bottle with a cap, I can easily pop the cap back on until I'm ready. (saving beer or root beer to cook with, etc)4
This trusty bottle opened hangs on the fridge next to the beverage station in my kitchen. I love it and use it everyday!5
Without a doubt one of the coolest bottle openers ever. This gets so many compliments when I have friends over. It works well, doesn't take up too much room. A cool design. Fits great in the hand, and super sturdy!5
While this is quite a stylish bottle opener it has several drawbacks. The magnet on the outside could be stronger, and its also a slightly awkward way to open a bottle compared to conventional ways.3
I received this in my first box and it's been stuck to my garage fridge for opening adult beverages ever since. The best part is handing it to someone else and watching them try to figure out how to use it, and then the inevitable "Ahhhh!" when they discover how simple it is. In short, a very cool little product.5
This is a pretty cool bottle opener. However I think it should be mentioned that this will be remembered more by those who have more use for it, such as regular beer drinkers and the like.
I like how this opener functions, and I like the magnetic option for storage. However I find that I tend to forget that it is on the refrigerator, deferring instead to the more remembered standard opener we keep in a drawer. Maybe the opener would be more memorable in one of it's two-tone configurations. But I received the solid color, and it blends into obscurity for me.
Does this opener work? Yes. But it's better suited toward those that would use it a lot. If you're just gonna drop it in a drawer for very infrequent use, you probably already have an opener there.
When I saw it and realized what it was, I was baffled. Especially after seeing the "full price". $14 for a bottle opener? No thanks. The nail that it uses doesn't exactly latch on as nicely as an actual bottle opener and the design is odd. Not sure if i like the shape or color of it. A full solid wood handle without the white tip would've been more attractive to me. All in all, probably the worst item Birchbox has provided me.2
I got the light wood/red version. This sits nicely on the fridge and has quickly become my go-to bottle opener for beer.4
I had been debating what type of bottle opener to get for months and had stuck with the one that comes on the can opener. Then, this arrived. It looked like it might not work well, but to my surprise, it popped the cap off with little effort. My only complaint is that they magnet could be a little stronger to catch those loose metal hats, but it does its job about 77% of the time. I really like the design and ease with which it works.4
This bottle opener has a cool factor about it. I'm really glad I recieved it in my box. I'm not sure if its something I would buy online but given the right price and being able to touch and feel it in a store I'd probably purchase. I'd recommend this company trying to get this product into higher end beer and wine stores. Nice product.5
