I bought this facial oil after reading all of the rave reviews. I'm in my early 30's and have sensitive, somewhat problematic, combination skin (dry in some areas, oily in others). I live in a very humid southern climate where temps reach 75+ degrees 9 months out of the year so I'm always looking for products that will help balance out my skin.
Unfortunately, I had a really terrible experience with this product. I started breaking a little bit within two days after using this product once at night. I used very little (one large drop that I rubbed around in my palms and then pressed my palms against my skin) after my normal routine (cleansing --> toner --> vitamin E serum --> moisturizer). I thought maybe I was just breaking out a bit due to my cycle; however, by the end of the first week I had developed one of the WORST breakouts I have EVER had. I had these terrible pustules (the type of whitehead with a reddish ring around it) all over my forehead and cheeks, areas which are rarely problematic for me. They have taken well over two weeks to heal completely, and there are still areas of my skin that have yet to return to normal.
I'm certainly disappointed I didn't have the same glowing results so many other people did. I am usually the type of person to use an entire bottle of product, even if I'm not totally happy with the initial results, because I understand that your skin can take 6-8 weeks to really respond to a new regimen; however, there is no way I could have continued to use this product with the reactions I was having.
I'm not sure if my skin just reacted badly to the oil itself, if there was something in this oil that reacted with one of my other skin care products, or if I just live in too humid of a climate to use a facial oil. I'm too scared of the possible side effects to try using this product again without my serum or moisturizer. If you try this oil, I would HIGHLY recommend that you test it out on certain areas of your face (e.g., maybe the side of your cheek or forehead) before applying it all over like I did. And I hope no one else has a bad reaction like I did!
