Trucker hats can go one of two ways—real trucker or modern-day hipster. This version of the timeless classic (also known as a “gimme cap” because farming supply companies used to give the hats away for free) is decidedly in the latter camp. The design is clean and contemporary, with a simple stitch-on patch featuring the Topo logo—and a reminder that that this hat was made in the good ol’ US of A.
How it Works
The mesh acts like a breezy screen door for the back porch of your head, while the sturdy twill front is a functional awning for your street-facing face. You could even go so far as to say the mesh hat epitomizes the classic business in the front/party in the back philosophy. (Mullets encouraged.)
How to Use
With a sweatband built in, a rounded crown ,and an adjustable snap-back, just ratchet this baby on and take her for a spin. While Topo’s flat brim allows you to embrace the mantra “the straighter the brim, the fly-er the style,” you can also round the brim as you see fit. Or, if you’re feeling particularly cheeky, kick an asymmetrical crease to create a hip, triangular pitch.
