Got this in my May Birchbox to try. Like many others, I was not sure about the scent when I first applied it. The first notes were a bit strong, maybe the Egyptian Myrrh...then the sandalwood notes were just as powerful. Once I gave it a few minutes of overpowering my senses it became a scent that was sensual, memorable, and exotic. I can't explain it well but you are actually wearing the fragrance...it is not wearing you and the scent begins to be one where you just keep smelling your wrist because it smells soooooooo good.
Not the refreshing scent I expected
I ordered this scent based on the associations I have with yoga--words like refreshing, calm, and light come to mind. Instead, however, Yogini is more reminiscent of "a hug from my elderly grandmother," as my good friend put it when I let her try this scent. It is too heavy and sweet, when I was looking for something light and fresh.
Sample vs. Product...which is the true Yogini?
Really, really loved the Yogini sample we received in our monthly Birchbox (April?) and decided to buy Yogini in the 8.8ml size based on how good the sample smelled. Was a bit disappointed that the actual product didn't smell the same as the sample. It's still good...just a different smell. Thought it was just me...it's not; I had others smell both the sample & the product...it's like they are 2-different scents and not the same. Which is the true Yogini? The sample or the product because I liked the sample better than the product.
Could've Done Without
Scents are my Birchbox favorites but I did not appreciate the smell of this on at all and nither did my friends. I couldn't even give it away!
A good night scent
I love this perfume even though I was expecting more musk and wood tones. It's a lovely and deep scent that is perfect for a night out or just a night in with that special someone.
