Back in 1980, Silvia Troska visited California and realized that the German nail industry was lagging behind the U.S., so she set out to bridge the gap. Troska became a nail technician and began introducing artificial nail extensions—unheard of in Germany at the time—to customers in her own perfumery. Her company alessandro launched nine years later and swept the nail scene in Germany and abroad, winning the Professional Beauty Award for nail design and nail care three times, as well as the Prix de Beauté from Cosmopolitan.
