The idea for BAGGU® (Japanese for 'bag') came when student Emily Sugihara got a gift: a reusable tote from Sweden. Her mother loved it, and wanted more of them to take on her trips to the supermarket. When they couldn't find anything similar online, they took matters into their own hands. Emily bought some ripstop material and the mother-daughter duo began sketching and sewing their own reusable grocery bags. They spent months mailing each other prototypes from New York to California and the eventual prototype was the beginning of BAGGU®. Today BAGGU® offers dozens of colors and styles.
