Agnieszka Burnett, founder of indie brand Nomaterra, always knew she wanted to be a beauty pioneer. Starting out as an assistant at Glamour, in just a few short years she went from interviewing the biggest names in beauty to making an appearance in the magazine herself. The self-taught chemist completed a post-baccalaureate at Columbia University before turning to the building blocks of fragrance. Intrigued by the close link between scent and memory, she based her three original scents on her earliest family travel destinations: Miami, East Hampton, and Washington, D.C. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Nomaterra's fragrances are handmade in small batches--but the buzz around them keeps on growing.
