You can get red anywhere. but I wanted this because of the Birchbox video showing the gal wearing it in Vermillion. I liked the way the tone of red looked on her. I had been wanting that exact orangish/red tone.
And I love By Terry brand. But $49 for a lipstick was a bit of a reach. So I waited and waited. I think I waited until I had a bit of a bonus and some other promo. But I finally got one! I got the Vermillion of course and it might be just more of another red, but I have to say there are some heavy duty moisturizer and protectants in this stick. It stays on and moisturizes my lips for a long long time. And the case is kind of cool - it has a magnetic closure on the rim. Very cool.
Anyway, as a red, it might not be a standout but as a product, it does have its own specific moisturizing and that is not found in many lipsticks I buy. I have some high end ones and this one definitely has something extra moisturizing and protecting in it.
It comes in a little pouch too. For that price you feel like the magnetic closure and pouch are kind of the extra touches you paid for. So that was nice. But if you just want a red, they are out there and can be found for many price ranges. Like I said, this was an indulgence I was willing to have and waited for. So, if you want to indulge, the moisture alone is worth it. But so is the name. By Terry has fantastic products! She is the makeup artist that invented the Touche L' Eclat pen for Yves St. Laurent! So you are in good hands with By Terry products!
