Capsule describes this cologne as "not intense" and I must disagree. It opens with a heady top note of rose; it's not fresh-picked or clean rose, but rather a softer, faded note, though it comes on quite strong. I could swear I smelled a hint of leather in the top note as well. Though tobacco is listed as a base note, its presence is notable from the first spritz. Tobacco is a note that tends to disappear into my skin quickly, so I was quite pleased that it lasted the entire length of Jaunt's wear on me (6-7 hours). It's a pipe tobacco (rather than cigarette) smell, with hints of bourbon. The black vanilla helps to balance smokiness of the tobacco without overpowering it with sweetness. The cedar was there if I really tried to notice it, but I wish it had been a little more prominent. Overall, this is a great unisex cologne - the rose and vanilla keep the strong base of tobacco from being too bitter, dark, or heavy without being too sweet.
