Clarisonic Aria Cleansing Brush

Birchbox Breakdown

It may look like a gadget from your favorite science fiction novel, but this skincare essential is actually a user-friendly tool that relies on a patented sonic technology to effectively and gently cleanse skin. It's the best way to clear up stubborn acne, keep skin supple, and even get rid of ingrown hairs. Oscillating back and forth at a sonic frequency of 300 movements per second, the micro-massaging brush jostles loose any sebum or dirt lodged into pores while simultaneously stimulating your skin. Clinical tests have proven that Clarisonic removes up to twice as much oil and dirt as manual cleansing (plus, it’'s a lot more fun). Each set includes one brush head and a handy drying stand that doubles as charging station.

How to Use

Make sure the brush is charged, then wet your skin. You can apply cleanser either to the brush head or directly to your face. Selecting low, medium, or high speed, turn on and gently run the brush over skin in small, circular motions. Aria comes with a built-in timer that beeps to alert you it’s time to move on to the next section of your face. Spend 20 seconds on your forehead, 20 seconds on your nose and chin, and 10 seconds on each cheek. For best results, change your brush head every three months.

Can I give this 1 Million Stars?!?!?! It's hard to describe the brush in just a few lines. The best recommendation I can give is to read SEVERAL reviews before buying something this expensive (for me it was worth it). WARNING!! Your skin tends to get worse before it gets better because all the dirt/oil/bacteria has to rise to the top of the skin. I started using only once or twice a week for almost a month. I had to build up to using it daily but it was totally worth it! My sister has super acne prone skin and even she can't use the acne brush so I recommend the sensitive skin brush to everyone regardless of their skin. If you're confident that you need a stronger brush, you can always bump up to a stronger brush after a couple months. Again, I love it, but the best advice I can give is to read several reviews and start out sloooow. It's worth it, but you have to be patient and can't quit just because your skin seems to get pimples brought to the surface (that's the whole point of the brush).

Made me a believer

After getting a facial with a Clarisonic, I finally took the leap and brought my own... Best decision for my skin!

Despite my strict skin care routine, I had stubborn acne cysts (1or 2 a month) that would take months to go away, an oil-slick t-zone full of blackheads and big pores, which are now drying up and looking better every day. I use it once a day (before bed), followed by my night skin regimen.

I really like the sample cleanser; may buy a full size. I find that a gel type cleaner works great, but if you lather a good cleansing bar really well and put it on, then use the Aria, you also get good results. By all means, follow it up with the right moisturizer, and enjoy your complexion again. The Aria isn't a luxury, but a must-have for my skin care.

Soft & clean!

Love the 3 speeds! The highest two tickle my nose so if it wasn't for the low speed my nose would never get washed . :) in all seriousness the multiple speeds are perfect for all types of skin including those days when I've been in the sun too long. It came with a brush for sensitive skin which for me was not as impressive as the deep pore cleaning brush I ordered separately. Stays charged for weeks and makes my face feel so soft and clean.

Absolutely a must have.

This is an ABSOLUTE must have, but first make the right decision when choosing between the Clarisonic Aria, MIA 2, and PLUS (those are the only 3 really worth the money, i promise). I personally choose the Clarisonic Aria because it wasn't as pricey as the PLUS (which had literally just came out when I bought mine), it has 3 levels and a T-timer plusing that tells you when to go to the next area of you face. I always start with my forehead, do my nose/chin together, then do right cheek, left cheek (It gives you four pulses so that's why I do it like that). I do my neck sometimes as well, so you can turn it back on and do your neck real quick it's really relaxing!

What you need to know about the MIA 2 is it's smaller and comes with a case (instead of the stand). I thought this would make it better for traveling.
However, after trying them both in Dillard's...I realized the Aria uses a USB cord which means you can buy a case for it, and then travel with it much easier. I didn't notice the USB plug-in/regular plug-in option with the MIA 2.
I liked the USB plug-in option and that played a huge role in my buying this specific version. But just keep in mind what your needs are.

Moving on, BRUSH HEADS ARE IMPORTANT. I use normal right now and I usually keep my Aria fully charged and on the level 2 (medium). I do get oily skin depending on the weather and face wash I use but my skin is pretty normal I have zero acne I rarely get blemishes i think my only issues is I'm worried to death about aging (I'm 23 so it's a good time to start worrying since I tan). So moving on to my face wash recommendations I really liked the sample of the foaming face wash by Clarisonic it was easy on my skin, I really enjoyed it but two other great options are Clinique mild foaming face wash and Philosophy: Purity (Purity is a very natural and safe for sensitive skin, amazing for winter)!

I hope this convinces you to buy this product, use it, find your own routine with it, and really love it. You don't have to suffer with skin issues :)

very good

This really seems to give my face a massage and deep clean as well. sometimes I use it for cleansing and other times to massage in exfoliating masks prior to cleansing. seems to get deep in the crevices
