I had been using the sensitive clarisonic brush head that comes with the brush for about a month when I purchased this kit. The sensitive brush is nice and it does exfoliate/clean better than just hands but I don't think it did much to refine pores.
I couldn't tell much difference between the two brush heads just by looking at them and touching them.
The first time I used the deep pore brush, I felt like the top layer of my face had been lifted as if I'd had a chemical peel. This brush head is absolutely stronger than the sensitive brush. I changed nothing about my method except the brush head and cleanser.
I alternate the sensitive and deep pore so I don't aggravate my skin. For now I only use the clarisonic at night after oil cleansing but I only use the deep pore brush 3-4 times a week and sensitive the rest of the time. That being said, my pores look better than they have in years and get more refined with each use of the deep pore brush so it's definitely worth it if you can listen to your skin and adjust accordingly.
The cleanser aids the brush head and they seem like a good pair. It's not drying or anything and it doesn't irritate my skin. I've used the brush head with a different cleanser and didn't have the same kind of pore reducing results.
The mask is great--not too drying--and seems to refine pores as well. ive also been using the mask as a spot treatment for the occasional hormonal under the skin acne on my chin. Not sure it completely clears it but definitely draws out the infection and feels much better right away.
For reference I have olive combination skin with fairly large pores. Few break outs other than occasional hormonal chin acne and black heads. Nothing and I mean NOTHING has ever refined my pores like this kit.
I would recommend this kit but caution using it too often at first--it's tempting to overuse because it works so well!
