I was running low on my high-end (and much pricier) eye primer so I checked the Birchbox website to see what else was out there. The most obvious thing that jumped out to me first was the price of this product. MUCH cheaper than a lot of its competitors. I had to try at least try it to see.
So I did this morning. To do a fair clinical trial, I used my regular primer on the left eye and this one on my right. I am blown away by how little makeup it took for the same effect with this product! No creases and the color is more intense. I dare say I used half of the shadow on the Coastal Scents eye, and needed half of the primer to coat my lid.
Needless to say, this will be a permanent switch for me.
Literally the worst.
Am always looking for a new primer but this one did not do well. It came out so liquidity, and felt so oily on my skin. Yikes.
Do not like at all.
This primer is the greasiest eyeshadow primer I have ever used. It's almost slimy even when squeezing from the bottom. Just feels gross. Also doesn't work very well, honestly. You get what you pay for.
Coagulated formula. Don't recommend
Yes, it's cheap but it's messy trying to use it. The formula separates and if you don't find a way to mix it before using it, you'll get liquid out first and then the product. It's like pouring mustard but you don't get to shake this tube so it's quite frustrating. If you don't mind this, then the actual formula works at lengthening eye shadow. Bottom line: don't recommend.
New to this
I'm very knew to eye primers BC I usually make a base with concealer and powder for my eyeshadow and it's always worked great. So idk about this quit yet. It's definitely different and a lot faster than doing it my old way but I don't think the eyeshadow stays o as long with this
