The description of this product is "Dorothy's Ruby Red Slippers" which made me think of a rich red glitter. Which is what this polish looks like---in the bottle. However, once applied, you realize the red glitter is suspended in black polish! It's definitely more Halloween/Queen of the Dead colored that holiday party appropriate. As far as the polish goes, it also requires 4-5 coats to cover, and takes a long time to dry. I'm really bummed! I was looking forward to wearing this now that Christmas is near, but unfortunately I'll be returning it.
Wow, the name says it all! This gives a finish like Dorothy's little red slippers in the "Wizard of Oz," and, honey, you aren't in Kansas anymore when you wear this color. Goes on well, covers well; I can't say that for a lot of cheaper glitter polishes. Some glitter polishes are very thick to begin with, some thicken quickly over their shelf life. I don't think this one is going to be one of those. Somewhat pricey for a polish, but, in my experience, you get what you pay for.
poor staying power, ambivalent about look
I'm really into how this looks at a glance, but if you look any closer, it looks raggedy real fast. The base color is like a translucent blackish, which just looks a bit strange. The biggest thing is that it begins to chip really easily, even with a base and top coat that tend to work pretty well for me, and all that taken together means it goes from fab to drab more quickly than I'd like, especially for the price. :/
Razzle Dazzle in a Bottle
Love the multi-sized "sequins". It applied easily & dries just as fast as this line's regular polish. It's exceptionally festive. I would recommend a light clear coat be reapplied on the 3rd day or so though.
Definitely Not Ruby Red!
I probably should've read the reviews. When I hear the name, 'Ruby Red Slippers', I don't think of black with red glitter. It's a nice product, but just not my style. I'll be returning this ASAP!
