When EVE LOM launched her cleansing balm over twenty-five years ago, Vogue called it “possibly the best cleanser in the world.” A few decades later, it remains the brand’s number one top seller and a favorite of skincare-obsessed ladies in the UK. The botanical formula takes off all traces of makeup and dirt. Plus, it comes with a finely woven muslin cloth to help you exfoliate as you cleanse. We only wish we’d been using it for the past 25 years (hey, better late than never, right?).
How it Works
The herbal-smelling balm features four essential oils—chamomile, eucalyptus, hops, and clove—that work in conjunction to rid your skin of all forms of gunk. An infusion of cocoa butter adds moisture and softness. Together with the muslin cloth, the cleanser will lead to brighter-toned, more even skin over time. After all, who says you can’t achieve an English rose complexion if you live stateside?
How to Use
If your skin errs on the dry side, use this cleanser only at night. If you have oily, normal, or combination skin, use it once to twice a day. Massage a small scoop onto dry skin. Next, fill your sink with hot (not scalding) water, and dip the muslin cloth into the water. Press the wet cloth onto your face and neck, letting the steam open up your pores to help the cleanser sink in. Now fold the cloth into a small square, and use it to exfoliate your skin and remove the cleanser. Rinse with cool water to close pores.
