I ordered this based on reviews, and boy was I ever disappointed. I ordered one in every color, now they just sit in my drawer. I have looked for years for a budge-proof eyeliner, and had such high hopes for this one. Within about an hour, the eyeliner was migrating below my eyes, and by the end of the day, I had the prettiest blue raccoon eyes!! It must be something about the blue coloring they use, because all of the blues smeared really bad, but the purple color was not quite as bad at smearing, but still did so. Since then, I found the holy grail of budge-proof, water-proof and smear-proof....Mac eyeliners!! The 100++ other eyeliners I own are all going in the garbage.
A disappointing pick from Laura Mercier
I ran out of LM's tightliner cake eyeliner and gave this ready-made version a shot.
1. Application was uneven and cakey in spots.
2. I used LM's eyeliner brush.
It was impossible to create a consistent, even line with this liner, and after multiple (about 12) attempts, I gave it away. I don't need another unusable product in my bag.
Total strike-out. Don't waste your money.
Have these in Canard, Violet and Brown
So, I think these are overpriced for créme eye liners, and I think that you can probably get a better gel liner for less at a lower price point. However, I purchased these quite a while ago and at the time, Laura Mercier offered these liners in fun colors whereas I don't believe certain drugstore brands did. I've found these to be relatively easy to apply as gel liners go. They go on easily, and if you use the angled liner brush that Laura Mercier makes, it's even easier---the problem with that brush is it's tiny and I'm constantly losing it in the depths of my makeup bag. I have noticed that on particularly long days, I sometimes have problems with product transferring from my eye lash line to my crease, but it's not that noticeable and it's nothing that a quick touch-up with a tissue won't fix. It helps a lot to finish with some translucent powder in the morning to help keep things from sticking where they shouldn't.
I bought this in purple, the color is nice but my problem with this product is that when my eyes water just a little in the corners, this just disappears from the inner upper eye lid. About 1/4" will be gone within a couple of hours, so it looks like I didn't line my entire lid. At this price, that's annoying. I also think the formula is a bit too wet, I have to dab excess off my brush onto paper before I start using it otherwise it's pretty messy. I would not recommend or buy this again.
