Detailed reveiw of Smashbox' BB+Halo primer, foundation, powder kit. Read before you buy another brand.
I ws totally skeptical. I have skads of expensive foundation and powder. I never get my hopes up for a product. I subscribribe to 10 monthly boxes.
I even have the crazy expensive Pro MAC cosmo kit I bought in cosmetology school. The most disappointing item they make is their primer. It goes on like lotion, feels like lotion, and has no mattifying efffects at all. I am a huge fan og Dermalogica's matte primer as it smooths and conditions the skin. Also, even though it seems like an elderly woman's product, Mary Kay has a matte primer that is just unbelievable. Well, now I'm adding Smashbox to my primer list.
Anyway, I am rarely surprised with great product. However, Smashbox surprised me eith their bb+halo, primer, foundation and powder with kabuki style brush kit.
This Smashbox trio is a perfect combo. The primer mattifies perfectly and glides on the skin like a feather. When you add their surprisingly light bb foundation and follow with the powder which is loose and comes in an ingenious case that you turn to loosen the powder for application with the kabuki style brush you have the best combo I've seen in years.
I am in my thirties and get blemishes. I tried this for the first time in a beach town. Looking at the pictures from the trip, you would assume I was 25 and blessed with radiant, blemish free skin.
One of my FAVORITE beauty products
Need a BB cream that gives you good coverage but also looks light and natural? Need a powder that controls oil but also leaves the skin feeling moisturized? This set of products is absolutely amazing for those reasons. The BB cream goes on clean and light and the powder will make your skin glow from within. I frequently reorder this product...it's amazing.
Worth every penny
I'm a huge smashbox fan, and I loved everything in this kit. I will be buying again when I'm out!
Good kit, good products
I haven't really used a primer before, but now I'm a believer. This one keeps things matte a fairly long time. The BB cream blends right in. I am impressed with the powder, which really does give that reflective soft-focus look. You also can't beat a kabuki brush for applying powder.
Not my favorite
I like all the products used together, but not a huge fan of individually. Ive been looking for a BB cream to replace my Orgins Vitazing, all the items together work well, but I'm not a fan of using so many products. I won't be ordering full size versions.
