Like any work of art, your manicure starts with a blank canvas—but the end result is a reflection of pure personal style. These color-tinted top coats help transform the appearance of your polish, whether the sheer tints are worn alone, applied over other colors, or layered for an ombré effect. Progressive style yields progressive results.
For some reason mine was a yellow tint which is awful. If you want to look like you have smoked for 40 years get this product. Bad shade choice opi1
I was really excited to try this product because I cannot have nail polish for my job. I thought the light top coat would allow me to add a little color. I got the yellow shade and was very disappointed. It just made my nails look discolored and dirty. Maybe it would do well on top of a polish but wouldn't recommend it alone.1
I normally love OPI but I got the "I am never AMBERrassed" color in my birchbox. It appears light red/blood orange in the bottle. It is sheer/transparent and goes on yellow--like the yellow your nails turn when you've had polish on too many weeks in a row. This is the yellow color that most people would do a "nail mask" of lemon juice to get rid of because it is NOT pretty! I often wear intense nail colors and probably would wear a lemonade yellow and maybe even goldenrod on my toes if I was in the right mood and the color was opaque, shimmery or glittery. I will add this to my list of colors I wont wear (the only other colors on this list are: "whiteout white" and "goth black"). How disappointing!1
To everyone saying how the amber color made their nails look sickly, these are sheer nail polishes and are more intended to create a watercolor or tinted effect layered over another polish and not so much to be worn alone which is why they're called topcoats. Although the description states they may be wore alone I believe to get the most out of them it is best to apply over a white or some other polish color. I'm not trying to be obnoxious about this it was just making me sad reading all the negative comments because I think this is such a cool, easy product for adding effects to your manicure. Sorry for the long post!5
I'm not sure why I would want my nails slightly tinted blue. I don't really like blue nail polish on me and the slight tint just made me look oxygen-deprived.1
I had to put several coats on because it was to thin. Color was just ok3
These are the perfect tints for summer months when you want a lighter look, I got asked where I got the unusual color, and the tint lasts for days and days.4
I received the blue color, which I painted over bright-red polish giving my nails a lovely redish-purple color. I think the concept behind this is cool, but only if it was layered over another color. I think it would look strange on its own - like I had painted my nails with cheap blue polish. Overall, I probably would not ever buy this for myself, but it was fun to sample.5
I liked the blue color I received, but I'm not totally sure how often I would use this product. It was hard for me to get consistent color across the nails and it honestly just looked like I had been dying fabric.3
I think people are using wrong this Top Coat.
I used on my last manicure, and for the first time it lasted me a whole week. I was so surprised. I used over my red nail polish and it was amazing, it maked the red really bright a beautyful I got the "I'm never amberrassed"
