Like any work of art, your manicure starts with a blank canvas—but the end result is a reflection of pure personal style. These color-tinted top coats help transform the appearance of your polish, whether the sheer tints are worn alone, applied over other colors, or layered for an ombré effect. Progressive style yields progressive results.
Definitely for the trendsetter and hipster. Fun addition to put on top, by itself or to change the color of an adjacent color. Not really for the natural nail polish user but definitely an interesting concept.3
I received the OPI Sheer Tints Color-Tinted Top Coat in "I can teal you like me". I will say that I like the idea of this product, I just unfortunately received a color that looks horrible on me. I think the right color match would make this a useful product for making interesting manicures.1
This product was nice. It was very subtle. Works well if you want to amp up a basic ballerina pink or white.4
I got this product in my February box in " I am never amberrassed" shade. The shade looks bad on the nails....it has a yellowish orange tint to it and just doesn't look pretty. I think other shades may work a little better but this particular one is just not a good choice.3
Got the sheer red in my February box. Really doesn't fit in with my style, doesn't really do anything for me at all. It's just another top coat, but with a red tint. When used in bare nails it gives a healthy color and hard shine, which is nice but not enough of a draw for me to buy. I'll continue I stick with my clear Essie topper.3
I love this polish. I like that is acts as a top coat and you can wear as a tinted clear.5
I got the I Can Teal You Like Me shade in my box and tried it alone on a bare nail. The blue tint just makes it look like I closed my finger in a car door. I realize it's a topcoat so I can see how it might be fun to layer it over a lighter color, but it went on streaky for me, so I'm not too impressed with the finish it gives. That said, I consistently have bad experiences with OPI but Essie works like a dream for me, and I know many people feel the opposite. I think that, like with perfume, different nail products react differently with individuals' body chemistry.1
Im not a fan of tinted top coats. Boo urns. Im just a downer.1
I like my toes painted so I will use it for that but I typically do not use top coat. I tried it over some red Opi color and it looks nice and shiny.4
I really like the idea of this product! The consistency is a bit different from typical nail polish so it takes some getting used to in order to get it looking right. It dries really quickly, which is nice, as long as you don't mess up. Ifirst used it over polish and it made an odd color combination but I know it will look nice with other colors. Great idea and great product. I will have fun trying it different ways!5
