My Holy Grail
I originally got to try this mask through my birchbox subscription, and it has literally been life-changing for me.
I have near-black hair naturally, that I inhumanely torture with 40v bleach, lightening it to a level 10. Then I batter and bruise it with toner, making it stark white. Afterwards, I'll sometimes leave it to think about what it's done to deserve such treatment. Or I might feel particularly inspired, and go at it again with some neon color or another. Every now and then, I'll scorch it with a curling iron because it makes me feel pretty.
When I'm done with my hair, it pretty much needs a triage center all its own, and that's basically what the Amika Nourishing Mask is. Just about every one of my female friends has commented at one point or another that they're shocked at how soft and bouncy my hair is, despite what I must put it through to get it lavender.. or silver.. or neon pink. Whenever one of my lady-friends needs help saving their hair, they come to me. And I send them to amika. I should seriously be making commission off my amika referrals by now.
In fact, if you - dear review reader - are in need of a hair-thirst quencher of the HIGHEST kind, I have a tried and proven tip for you. On a morning where you have nothing to do all day but sit around eating pizza and watching Netflix (don't try to front, we all do it), make a mixture composed of half amika, half coconut oil, and slather it on your dry hair. Pin it up, and get cozy. Leave that in all day (seriously.. all day. it'll look gross, maybe even ask the delivery guy to just leave the pizza on your porch and walk away), and then wash it as normal that evening.
You will awake to such glorious, soft, beautiful hair that the second you step out onto a busy street, it's pretty much a guarantee* that you'll be approached to pose for the cover of a cheesy romance novel.
