Like Matt Damon's famous one-liner in Good Will Hunting, this dual-purpose cream palette from theBalm® is destined to be a classic. Each one of these easy-to-blend, long-wearing shades can be used on both cheeks and lips, and they won't streak or fade once applied. Each palette has six orchard-inspired shades: Cider, Cobbler, Pie, Crisp, Candy, and Caramel. Mix and match for the sweetest results. Use Caramel for contouring, and dab Cobbler on your lips for a fresh shade of red. Layer Candy and Crisp for the perfect pink peach color, or use Crisp solo all over cheeks. Wear Pie on the apples of your cheeks, and try Cider to mimic the effects of a day spent in the sun.
I have never found a lip tint, let alone a multifunctional product that has worked this well. I might just be biased, because the color of this tint is phenomenal (literally the best one I've ever tried, and I've tried quite a few). But aside from the amazing color, I like the fact that it doesn't feel sticky, or dehydrate my lips. It also blends so well. I'm in love!5
I don't really like cream blushes -- I never feel like they blend in nicely on me. But I do like a good lip color that has pop while still looking natural. This color was great -- it stays on pretty well, but doesn't look heavy.5
Loved this product paired with my clear winter chapstick. Perfect amount of tint that lasts a while, a great alternative to those who don't like highly pigmented lipsticks like myself! Thinking about purchasing a full sized sample!5
Although I love cream blushes, this one was a flop for me! Too red and it was hard to apply; I'm not a huge fan of putting on blush with my fingers.3
I really like this product and it looks great on me. I don't feel great about rubbing my cheek hard every day (I'm afraid it will give me wrinkles!), so I don't use it constantly, but it looks really nice. (I have medium-light skin.)4
I like this palette a lot and I love that you can mix and blend the colors. However I wish there was one or two really dark reds included, so you could make a bigger variety of shades. Three of these colors are very similar to each other, and on their own they're not very flattering colors.4
I'm all for cream blushes and lip stain. And if a product can do double duty, I'm sold for life. The main drawback of this one (for me) is that only one color really worked well, and got used up. The others didn't get used at all. I felt accordingly that it was a waste of money. I wish theBalm sold these color separately. Since they don't I won't purchase again.
P.S. I still use the nice, large mirror it's packaged with so that's a plus!
-The packaging is totes adorbs.
-The colors are super flattering, not a bad one in the bunch.
-Nice, sort of creamy texture when putting your finger to it (yet also powdery, hard to explain)
-No toxic ingredients as far as I can tell
-Looks very natural on the face, like "oh, my lips/cheeks are NATURALLY this color"
-Don't attempt to apply to cheeks with a brush. Just, don't. Stick with your fingers.
-It got under my fingernails and tinted them pink.
-Color fades from cheeks somewhat quickly (I applied over primer and powder foundation)
-Made my lips chap weirdly, after 1.5 hours of wear -- leaving gross, colored, dry skin shapes on my lips (this is even with adding moisturizing lip balm)
-Definitely too dry (matte to the point of being way dry) to apply to lips without another lip balm product
-Must remember to reapply after eating/drinking/talking...fades quickly
Verdict: A cute product appropriate for teenage girls, not good enough for a mid-twenties woman like myself. Will not buy again.
Loved using this palette, very versatile to use on different parts of the face. Easy to apply and blend with fingers, and lasts a reasonable amount of time.4
I really liked this mini palette. I don't typically ever buy blush or keep several colors on hand. This was a great way to try out different colors. They also were quality- had good pigment and coverage and lasted all day!4
