If you had the chance to rifle through a French woman’s bathroom cabinet, you might be surprised to find this hydrating body oil in lieu of the heavy lotions we favor stateside. But we think you should take a cue from our sisters overseas. This fast-drying formula cures dryness, and it isn’t the least bit greasy. Plus, the clean, woodsy scent has the faintest whiff of pine—no wonder skincare-obsessed Parisians consider it a staple.
I bought this product because I was looking for an alternative to body lotion and this product had good reviews. This product left me feeling oily, as it did not absorb into my skin (even after a few hours). I will be returning this product, as I was hoping to be left with moisturized skin (without the oily after effect).2
I purchased this mainly because of the price, and for the price it is an excellent choice---but the odor is not one I love. I did know the odor was piney before I purchased the p;roduct, so I was prepared. It is smooth and provides a nice touch to wet skin---so it's a good product for the price. Just be aware, the scent is unusual.3
I wasn't too crazy about the smell - kind of a old lady smell, but it is very moisturizing. A little bit definitely goes a long way. Great size product for the price.3
I bought this in hopes it would be like the L'occitance oil but it does not have the same consistency and I wasn't a fan of the smell either.3
Absolutely LOVE LOVE this body oil. I tend to have dry skin especially through the winter months and Avene Body Oil does the trick. The oil is not to thick and is quickly absorbed into the skin. I usually put it on before drying off in the shower. It makes your glisten and it smells wonderful. Everytime I put it on my husband tells me how he loves the smell. Will be buying this product AGAIN....3
...I don't care for the smell of this product! I'm getting used to it, (my dogs LOVE it) but I'll be looking for something commensurate that doesn't stink. The smell dissipates but not fast enough for me.3
In last month's Birthbox there was a sample of Caudalie Divine Oil and I loved it. The smell of it was just ... heavenly. The sample size just wasn't enough to convince me on body oils and buying a whole bottle while still on the fence was a little too spendy. So, I cheaped out and bought the Avene. I figured for half the price, I would have plenty of time to determine if body oils were for me or if I would remain a hard core lotion girl. I simply can't get past the smell. It doesn't smell anything like pine and outdoors to me. It smells like cheap hairspray. Like Aquanet circa 1984 cheap. Bad scent aside, lotion works better for me. An hour or two after using the oil, I look just as dry as I did before my shower and I stink.3
I liked it, but I prefer more natural look. This kind of made my face look dirty.3
It gave me a nice glow but I didn't fully understand the reusable puff and how I could travel with it.3
I'm very sensitive to smell so I'm really surprised I like the woodsy smell of this oil. The smell does not linger. With the winter here in Chicago, my skin was feeling itchy from dryness. I used this once and the itchiness and dryness has gone away. I would recommend.4
