If you had the chance to rifle through a French woman’s bathroom cabinet, you might be surprised to find this hydrating body oil in lieu of the heavy lotions we favor stateside. But we think you should take a cue from our sisters overseas. This fast-drying formula cures dryness, and it isn’t the least bit greasy. Plus, the clean, woodsy scent has the faintest whiff of pine—no wonder skincare-obsessed Parisians consider it a staple.
Probably my most favorite sample so far. Love the smell. I also like how it doesn't leave a greasy feeling5
This smells fantastic, and is very calming. It also works great to hydrate your skin! It has an earthy/woodsy/ but yet, still feminine odor.5
This smells great and makes my skin feel really smooth. If you use too much it feels a little oily at first, but then soaks in to keep you moisturized.4
This oil rocks. I've long been a fan of oil rather than cream to moisturize my skin and this one is the perfect consistency -- not to thick, and absorbs into your skin quickly so that you can get dressed without ruining your clothes.4
...I don't care for the smell of this product! I'm getting used to it, (my dogs LOVE it) but I'll be looking for something commensurate that doesn't stink. The smell dissipates but not fast enough for me.3
I bought this product because I was looking for an alternative to body lotion and this product had good reviews. This product left me feeling oily, as it did not absorb into my skin (even after a few hours). I will be returning this product, as I was hoping to be left with moisturized skin (without the oily after effect).2
Oil is nice and rubs in relatively well. It is a little thigh and doesn't spray evenly, but u get used to it. Smell is nice, not overwhelming4
This product is fantastic-- I have super dry skin, even in summer, and this oil is actually better and lighter than all that gloppy lotion. Plus it smells fantastic. A plus for people who have keratosis pilaris: it smooths out those little bumps. Do be sure to let it dry before you put your clothes on,though.5
In last month's Birthbox there was a sample of Caudalie Divine Oil and I loved it. The smell of it was just ... heavenly. The sample size just wasn't enough to convince me on body oils and buying a whole bottle while still on the fence was a little too spendy. So, I cheaped out and bought the Avene. I figured for half the price, I would have plenty of time to determine if body oils were for me or if I would remain a hard core lotion girl. I simply can't get past the smell. It doesn't smell anything like pine and outdoors to me. It smells like cheap hairspray. Like Aquanet circa 1984 cheap. Bad scent aside, lotion works better for me. An hour or two after using the oil, I look just as dry as I did before my shower and I stink.3
I like this product as a post-shower "I'm in a hurry" moisturizer. It has a nice smell and doesn't leave a residue, so I can get dressed immediately after applying.4
