If being too gorgeous were a crime, this luminizing powder would turn us all into serial offenders. Ok, maybe that's a little extreme, but can you blame us? This three-in-one highlighter, eyeshadow, and all-over shimmer is the prettiest honey-hued pigment weve ever laid our eyes on. As the pun-tastic name suggests, this versatile luminizer imparts a soft-focus glow wherever we choose to apply it. Light-reflecting silica particles conceal blemishes and fine lines, while the honey color leaves a sheer wash of shimmer. It's our secret to looking great in all settings, from fluorescent cubicles to candlelit cafes.
I do not like luminizers in general. I try really hard to decrease shininess with my beauty routine, why bring more back? Anyhow, I really liked the color of this product and loved it as an eyeshadow. Unfortunately, my eyes were too sensitive to it, causing redness and tearing. I gave it to a friend.2
This highlighter is a little too yellowy for me, but it has a wonderful texture and shine.2
I tried this as an eye shadow first. I did not care for it, but I don't wear eye shadow often as it always creases, no matter what I try. It was too light for my liking too, really did not make my eyes stand out at all. I will need to try it as a highlighter next to get a good feel for the product.2
I was not really sure on how to use this product. There was no brush or applicator with it. Did not really see any directions on the actual packaging itself. Will need to do some more research and see if I will actually use it.2
This is about as good of a luminizer as any drugstore luminizer. Can look like clown makeup if you don't spend a lot of time really blending well. Nothing out of the ordinary--just a more expensive version of what you can get at any drugstore2
I don't care for this. Its just too shimmery for me. Looks like you're a Twilight character. But I'm just not that into highlights to begin with!2
I tried this as a highlighter/bronzer, but this was too glittery for me - not subtle. I would wear it as eyeshadow - I like the color, but wouldn't spend this much on a single eyeshadow color. For me, this isn't a "do-it-all" type product.2
What I liked:
There is more than one way you can use this product, which is nice. Even though I'm more of an eye shadow girl, if I plan on experimenting with highlighter, I can turn to this.
What could be improved on:
As a shadow, the shade would work best in the summer months because of its light, golden tones.
If you like the idea of convenience, this might be the product for you, as you can get a lot of uses out of this.
I love the product itself, but the sample size is incredibly disappointing. It's too small to use any brush besides an eyeshadow brush. It's been way too long since I received a decent-sized sample (or a full size, isn't that a thought!?) in my box.2
As a makeup minimalist, the idea of using a highlighter on a regular basis is completely foreign to me. I have very fair skin, and the Mary-Lou Manizer doesn't really show up on me other than as a sandy-colored, dullish sheen which isn't particularly flattering. I am guessing that it looks better on olive skin. (Does it seem like more and more beauty products cater to tanned skin???) The only use this product will get from me is as an eyeshadow base.2
