The French have elevated beverage brewing to a fine art, and we’re not just talking about their ability to whip up a textbook latte. Hailing from Paris, these premium green tea blends are skillfully crafted to evoke a luxury in a cup. Each variety features fine leaves sourced from Eastern tea-growing countries, but the light, fruity flavors and silken bags are decidedly European chic. Marie Antoinette would approve.
Let me start off saying that I am a tea drinker. In my home country we were occupied by the British years ago and a tradition that has been left from colonial rule is that you have a cup of tea and its like a work of art. However, this was kinda different. I couldnt put my finger on it but I concluded this was like drinking perfume water. It was "too" nice that maybe it needs a refined approach. I tried the teas and with the smells and the lack of ooomp it was not enjoyable. I do hope to try this again. I tried.2
I didnt like the tea at all. I made some, took a few sips and threw the rest out. I really like green tea, but I didnt like the extra flavors. Wouldnt recommend.2
First half of the cup was good, last half was bitter. Ick.2
I am not a big tea drinker, but I gave this a shot. It's okay.2
I am more interested in teas with health benefits, so I wasn't too excited about trying this tea. The taste was okay, but nothing special. I don't really like getting food products in my birchbox, its kind of a let down.2
I really do not like tea but gave it to my parents they seemed to like it2
The date flavor was a little too strong and little bits came through the tea bag. Overall, not very impressed.2
Being a hardcore tea drinker, I have a few concerns with this product. I like the fact that, aside from the wrapper, it's totally degradable and doesn't contain staples. However, the bag itself is too narrow so the leaves don't move freely (I prefer loose tea).
You're paying mainly for packaging ($0.62/cup v. $0.23/cup average) so I would give this as a gift or use for a very special occasion. I also wonder what region of China this tea is from; it tastes more like a white tea than a full green tea. If you're thinking of including tea in another Box, try Republic of Tea.
P.S. The presentation/packaging of your Boxes is A+ and I like the fact you include food products. Thanks.
It was kind of a random item in the box. It was decent tasting tea, I enjoyed a cup, but I would never go out of my way to order this.3
I was ready to love this as I've been wanting to try different teas for awhile. While the aroma was amazing, it didn't translate to something pleasant to taste as it was a bit too perfume-like. I wish the taste was a little more subdued.3
