We surveyed all our curly haired friends and the results were unanimous: Miss Jessie’s® detangling formula is the best of the best. Whether your hair is frizz-prone and curly, chemically processed, or just plain parched, it will soften your strands without weighing them down. Plus, it doubles as a leave-in treatment for those days you need an extra layer of hydration.
Great formula, left my hair feeling light but well moisturized!4
My hair is only slightly wavy and highlighted. My stylist put in extra highlights for spring/summer recently which has made my hair crazy dry ever since. Like breaking off, tangly, frizzy, ready-to-shave-my-head-and-start-over dry.
I remembered I had a couple of packs of conditioners stored away that I was waiting to use from my previous Birchboxes. I grabbed Miss Jessie's Original Creme de la Creme Conditioner that claimed to be the "best darn conditioner" because I was desperate and only the best darn conditioner would do.
I gave my hair a good washing and applied this conditioner. I was sure that it wouldn't live up to it's claim because it didn't feel very...well...conditioning. It's very light and non-greasy. No way it could cure my dry hair, right? Wrong!
It rinsed out easily and my hair felt smoother and stronger even while still in the shower. I used a blow dryer to dry it...and wow! Super smooth, silky and not weighted down.
After day two I still had had zero frizz. If you have ever visited southeast Texas....you know that's an accomplishment for any product. Humidity is off the chain here. Two frizz free days because of a single conditioner use is impressive to me.
The smell is not offensive by any means, but it's different than most hair products. It more of a soft clean laundry smell than your typical fruity or perfumy hair products.
I loved it enough to purchase this product and will continue to purchase it.
This is like a large glass of water for dehydrated hair! It is very moisturizing without weighing down my hair. I don't use it as a leave-in treatment because it makes my hair oily but it works great as a normal conditioner.4
I liked the sample well enough that I purchased a full size. I don't use too often but it works okay. It has a powdery odor.3
This moisturizes hair pretty well but it's nothing to write home about. Comparable to any $5 drugstore conditioner such as Aussie or Garnier.3
I actually bought this after I received the sample. A little goes a long way. I've had it for quite a while. I do switch up my conditioner occasionally. I don't have curly hair, but I do have chemically processed hair and this makes my hair silky smooth. Another great product I would of never tried if it weren't for BirchBox!4
I have curly, but fine hair that tangles easily. This was not the right conditioner for me. It was way too heavy to use as a leave-in conditioner and weighted down my fine hair, but was not heavy enough to use as a rinse-out conditioner as it didn't detangle or defrizz my hair.1
Its a good conditioner, however I found that it wasn't nourishing/ hydrating enough for my hair. Although it did help my curls form, I didn't feel like it left my hair soft enough. I'll still use it every now and then but I find I usually need to add another leave-in conditioner to get the results I want3
I've been using this conditioner for several years now and I love it. The smell might be my favorite, so I use it a little more often than one of my other faves. This conditioner goes a long way too. I have really long hair and it still took me a year to get through my last bottle. I'm addicted to this stuff!5
Love his conditioner. Leaves your hair feeling very hydrated after use! The longer you leave it the better your hair feels.4
