The undisputed ruler of the curl universe, Miss Jessie’s® developed this silky shampoo for girls with stubborn ringlets, natural kinks, or parched hair. While it’s especially coveted by the curly crew, our experience confirms that it’s great for hair of all types and textures. It instantly detangles even the most intricate knots, leaving your strands sleek and uber-manageable.
I would not recommend this product if you have thin hair. My hair felt so weighed down and greasy. I had to immediately rewash my hair twice with my normal shampoo.1
Unfortunately, this shampoo sample seemed very ordinary to me. And I had to use the entire box sample at one time to get enough lather to feel that my hair was getting clean.1
I really wanted to like it, by the name. It was super slippery, super sudsy... It didn't sud. slippery? It was sticky and oil-like. Ant the best detangler? I had knots in my hair. I usually don't have knots in my hair. I have long hair, down to my waist, I used the whole packet sample. I usually only need to use half when I get these sizes. I was surprised- since it claimed to be super sudsy. End result? My hair is dry at the ends I really dont like the rough texture, even thouh i used my normal extra moisture hair mask. My hair usually is soft and nice. So dissappointed- Maybe high expectations? well back to my old one. Which i still love!1
I tried the product after swimming because that's when I have the hardest time combing my hair. It was actually quite frustrating though ... so thick that it was difficult to wash out of my hair and then didn't quite allow to comb through smoothly as it promotes. It did comb through with some muscle, which I suppose is something. However, in general, it was frustrating and left my hair feeling thick. I prefer conditioner for detangling.1
This shampoo made my hair a mess and dried it out. I wound up giving my girlfriend the remaining sample and it worked out better for her.1
Sulfates are very drying for hair, and this is not a sulfate-free product. Would not purchase.1
If I buy a specialty shampoo it's usually for color-protection or anti-frizz, so I don't really have a need for this particular product. But if a moisturizing, anti-tangle product is what you are looking for, then this is a good choice.1
Used this and unfortunately there wans't a thing about this shampoo that made it easier to detangle. I have long chemically treated hair and it was horrible on it. It also didn't become very sudsy it felt like I hadn't shampooed it, I used it twice to be sure my hair was clean. I hated this .1
Guess I've become a bit of a shampoo snob, but ever since I gave up sulfates my hair has been very happy. I gave this sample to a friend who has wavy hair, she liked it but not enough to put into her current regimen.1
This is my biggest Birchbox bummer. The only positive thing about it is that it gave me the chance to use that alliteration. Nerd alert. Anyway, I have fine hair, meduim-length, untreated hair and put very little product in it. I had a small amount of texturizer in when I used this shampoo, and it took me 3 shampoos with this product to get it out. I've never had to do that. On top of this, I didn't particularly like the scent. I can't even describe it. It was borderline chemical.1
