The undisputed ruler of the curl universe, Miss Jessie’s® developed this silky shampoo for girls with stubborn ringlets, natural kinks, or parched hair. While it’s especially coveted by the curly crew, our experience confirms that it’s great for hair of all types and textures. It instantly detangles even the most intricate knots, leaving your strands sleek and uber-manageable.
Simply the best shampoo for curly hair!!!!!! I love Miss Jessie's products. I would definitely recommend to anyone. I love Miss Jessies5
I was really looking forward to using this product bc it says it's cleanses any residues on the hair but after shampooing my hair 3 times I didn't find a difference. It smells really nice but it does not do well with my type of hair(oily hair)
Sorry, but I won't be buying this.
Product was too thick even for my natural wave. My hair felt weighed down, almost 'goopy'. Sorry, I can't spend money on this shampoo.1
I'm a stylist and this felt alright for me, just to try it, but I have to say I'll always stick with the professional products I trust.3
I was really surprised by what a difference this shampoo has made to my hair. At first, i was a little skeptical since the focus seems to be on curly or textured hair and mine is straight as a needle, and tangles are rarely an issue. The effect has been to produce more volume (desperately needed) and a smooth finish. I will say that it can feel a little greasier, but that's probably because it isn't stripping out all of my natural oil and leaving my hair flat as a pancake. Overall, I was really happy with the product and never would have used it without the sample!5
I have never felt a shampoo as smooth as this one! From the moment I put it on it felt like smooth butter and all my tangles just straightened out. its amazing!!!5
This product's name gave me visions of running a brush easily through my thick baby-fine hair. Not a comb, mind you - I didn't expect miracles! But I had high hopes for that word "Slip." Packaging promises of detangling *curly* hair raised the bar even higher: My hair is only slightly wavy. Perhaps it could finally meet my boar-bristle brush as pleasant co-workers instead of enemies?
I needed the full sample packet for my waist-length hair. The lather was luxurious. Nice fragrance also, though I always keep in mind "Cosmetics Cop" Paula Begoun's rule: "Fragrance isn't skin care." (Or hair care.) While rinsing, I debated about conditioner: It's almost always essential to work out the knots in my wet tresses. Eventually I ruled it out; this shampoo deserved a fair test against the many other products I've tried.
I cleared my giant wide-toothed comb of fewer tangles than normal, and my smoothed wet hair seemed to lie nicely in place. The bottle of detangler sat unused. Did I find the pot of gold? Was this shampoo really "it"? For many long-haired gals, wet combing is the key. For me, it's just the first stage. Two trickier battles lay ahead: How would my air-dried hair react to brushing over the next three days, and would it behave when pulled into and released from ponytails several times a day?
Unfortunately for Miss Jessie’s, brushing began this product's downfall, and the situation never improved. Many shampoos I've used need the help of conditioner to keep my hair from being unruly, but most don't make brushing a painful, static-zapping, knot-dragging, muscle-straining battle of exhaustion. It might take several minutes, but usually I eventually get top, sides, back, and bangs brushed into submission. This is the first time I ever gave up. After brushing all my hair once through and cleaning loose strands out of the brush, I returned for the smoothing challenge -and lost! Five minutes, then eight - and I couldn't go any further.
Day four. Though I repeatedly remove tangles, I just don't have the strength to smooth my hair afterward; the ends visibly repel each other with static, the brush fills with hair again, and I return to the detangler.
My fussy hair: 1. Miss Jessie's Original Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo: 0.
I love the suds and I also love how this product makes my hair smell. However, after repeated use, I feel like it leaves a residue on my hair.3
I received this product in my April box. I have thin hair that goes to my shoulders. The first time using this product it made my hair extremely greasy. I gave it a second chance, because I thought I might have used too much shampoo on my first use. Again my hair seemed very greasy, and throughout the day my hair looked very gross. I gave this product to my friend who has natural curly hair and she said she absolutely loved this shampoo. She washes her hair every other day, and has much thicker and longer hair than I do so this may have been why I was not very happy with this product.2
Although I liked the smell of the shampoo and did feel it helped detangle my curly hair, it definitely did not get sudsy as expected by the name. I actually had to use more shampoo to thoroughly cover my hair, even though it says a little goes a long way. I will stick to my regular shampoo and conditioner which manages my tangles just as well.2
