Crazy curls, meet your match. This wondrous styling cream is designed to tamp down stubborn kinks and tame frizzy ringlets. The custard-like formula is especially good for ethnic or chemically treated hair, and is the perfect prep for fingerstyling, coiling, twists, and braids. Plus, the fresh pineapple scent makes us want to use it everyday.
This cream is great at taming my big frizzy curls. I'm white, with medium-length, thick, red hair with tight curls. I have frizz all year round, but it's at its worst in the steamy summer.
I use Curly Meringue like I would any other curl styling product: rub some in my hands and scrunch into damp hair and air day. It consistently results in bigger softer (looking and to the touch) curls that aren't frizzy or too voluminous. *Note* I use only about 1/2 of what the directions suggest because more weighs down my curls too much. I got to that amount by trial and error and suggest that you do the same, especially if your hair isn't very dry or kinky.
The one drawback for me is that it requires me to wash my hair every day, or else I end up with greasy looking locks (if I use half the regular amount I use with just-washed hair) or limp and frizzy (i don't use any product). I suspect that's because I have normal hair, that isn't dry and usually doesn't need to be washed more than 3 times/week. If you have hair on the dry side, the greasy effect probably wouldn't be an issue for you.
The bottom line is that even though I have to wash my hair more often (and therefore have to condition it more often too), it's not such a big problem that I would stop using the product. I love the consistently good hair days that Curly Meringue gives me too much.
I seriously love this product. I put it on while my hair is wet and when it dries, it is soft, frizz free, and good to go. I love how I get tendrils of soft curls, not hard spirals like with other products. It smells divine too!5
i dont use this product on my hair but i use it on my 3 year old daughters hair she has curly curly hair and this product makes it look great it kinda gives it a wet look but it is not wet and looks great4
This product does hol curls well. i am not fond of the scent but isnt problem enough not to use. something i might not purchase outrigh but def worth my BB points3
I have long curly, fine hair which can easily turn into a frizz ball. I've tried so many products that weigh down my hair sapping the natural volume I have. Other products are super oily and gave my hair an all day wet look (no thank you!). I was skeptical when I tired this. To my surprise, a little went a long way. My curls retained their bounce, sans frizz! Light and moveable is key to my curl's heart. So excited to get the big bottle. Oh yeah, and the smell is amazing!5
Did a great job of keeping the frizz at bay, but didn't give much of a boost to my curly/wavy hair, weighing it down instead. The price of some curl definition was definitely some crunchiness. Be forewarned - this product smells VERY strongly like a pina colada.3
I have been struggling with my hair type my whole life! Since I was 13 I started straightening my hair religiously. When I got the sample come in the mail of this curling creme i thought why not? Best rhing i havr done with my hair and it smells like a piña colada! My curls felt soft and healther with bounce instead of crunch heavy curls thay smell like aerosol!5
Works great at defining curls while keeping them soft and bouncy and smells GREAT! A little goes a long way.4
MISS JESSIE'S IS THE TRUTH!!! Every product that I've tried has worked for my kinky-curly hair. The secret is in how it is applied. Keep your hair wet or very damp and smooth this beautiful stuff on. You will have gorgeous, defined curls that last and last. All Miss Jessie's products leave my hair soft and shiny.4
This product is wonderful! And it smells fantastic. One small drawback, you only have to use a very tiny amount. If you use more, it tends to get on your neck and face.4
