Crazy curls, meet your match. This wondrous styling cream is designed to tamp down stubborn kinks and tame frizzy ringlets. The custard-like formula is especially good for ethnic or chemically treated hair, and is the perfect prep for fingerstyling, coiling, twists, and braids. Plus, the fresh pineapple scent makes us want to use it everyday.
Makes my hair. Very grease even if I put very little wouldn't recommend it to any one. Just hate it!1
I bought this product after trying the Pillow Soft sample from my box. While I liked the meringue, I LOVED the pillow soft more. The meringue product still worked great--I am half-African American so I thought this product would be the better fit, but I enjoyed the Pillow Soft more. :) Great product though!4
I've tried dozens of curl creams.
This one is by far the best of the best! My curls stay frizz free. I use this while my hair is still wet. Then a little gel and hands off!
Also smells good. My hair is a chin lenght bob and all I use is a quarter sized dab. The Birchbox jar has lasted longer than expected. The full size jar will be worth buying.
This product is not for me, my hair defintely didn't feel as described. My hair felt and sounded crunchy. I had to wash my hair the same night.1
Isn't too sticky and doesn't dry my hair out. Defines curls and doesn't leave build up. Love this!5
I really enjoyed the pineapple smell of the product but felt it did nothing for my hair. I have wavy hair and even with the product my waves were not defined and were frizzy. I believe this product may work for african american hair but not other hair types.3
I loved received curly hair products in my Birchbox this month, and Miss Jessie's Curly Meringe was the product I was most excited to receive. I was even more excited to find that I wasn't disappointed once I tried it. The product smells lovely. It has a nice smooth creme texture, and it made my curls look great.
I normally use a moisturizing shea-butter based curl creme in conjunction with a styling gel and a light leave-in conditioner. I would say my routine at the moment is at holy grail status, because I hardly ever switch it up. This Curly Meringe, however, is one product I would consider adding to my arsenal.
What's special about this is I didn't need an additional styling gel (you do need a leave-in). Even though this is a creme product, it definitely gives moisture, definition, and hold! When I used my gel on top of it, my curls just frizzed. When I used the Curly Meringe alone, my curls looked fabbed.
If you are someone that HATES the crunch from gel, I'd look into this product. My curls had that "after scrunching out the crunch" feel to it once it dried. You definitely need to put this on wet hair to distribute it evenly; otherwise this works for my curls.
My hair is half wavy/half straight. I cannot air dry my hair without it getting frizzy. In result, I have to use heat on my hair daily. This cream I put in my hair while its damp and let it air dry. I get beachy frizz free waves. I'm so glad birchbox introduced me to this product.5
I own and love almost all Miss Jessies products. This particular product is great...if you can get pat it's overwhelming super strong pineapple scent. Miss jessies isnt known for the great scent of their products. I'm Latina and this controls my thick curls BUT DOES NOT GET HARD!! No crispy ramen noodle curls here! It also works great for damp roller sets...You can also mix in some serum, leave in conditioner or even gel if you want a firmer dhold..its really adjustable amd a grat product tob have4
The product was okay. The problem for me was the smell. It just felt like I was putting Malibu rum in my hair.. and for me that was kind of a no go. I ended up mixing some of it in my other hair products as a little hair cocktail in my palm to help mask the smell.3
