It's a cardinal curly hair rule: Work with your strands, not against them. Miss Jessies® makes that easy with this weightless styling cream, which enhances hairs natural bounce and shape without any heaviness. Whether your hair is naturally kinky, curly, or wavy, the moisturizing formula does away with frizz and dryness. This light-as-air cream gets to work immediately, sealing in hydration and adding shine, while also softening and strengthening each strand. The secret to the formula is its winning combo of plant extracts, including grape seed, lavender, and chestnut. You can thank an infusion of ginger flower and lime for the fresh, sweet scent. And since this cream is packed full of moisturizing botanicals, it doubles as a rescue treatment for fried and over-processed hair.
I should have gone with the instructions and I should have not used as much as I did. I did not like the fragrance, it smells like cheap hotel shampoo, I did not like that it left my hair feeling greasy and dry from the tips. Overall I did not like the product, but maybe it was because I used too much.1
I have never used this product before, and found it to be decent. I used it for a week and found that it does the job, but based on my experience with other products, I think there is some to be desired. It also feels incredibly waxy and is hard to get off my hands.
I appreciate that the sample size was ample - there was a lot more in that pouch than I had anticipated - a little amount goes a long way.
Ultimately, for my curls I need something that provides texture and hold (more like a mouse) and ultimately felt that I had to add something to my hair beyond this product which makes me feel like I could go without. I liked trying it though and it could be good as a travel packet to have on hand for hair emergencies on the go!
I already use Miss Jessie's shampoo and conditioner, and I love that. This stuff is phenomenal. I put this in my hair and then did some big twists with my fingers. I ended up with nice, low frizz curls. I think I would have gotten more volume if I had hit it with a diffuser more, but I mostly just let it air dry. I will definitely be investing in this product!5
This stuff really worked for my curls. I've tried other Miss Jessie curl creams and liked them, but none were as good as this one!5
I liked this product at first, but wondered why my hands felt so greasy for the rest of the day. Realized it too late after I ordered the full size bottle. One of the main ingredients is mineral oil, and it was soaking into my hands during styling and when I adjusted my hair throughout the day. Not good. Returning my purchase.1
I haven't had much luck with glycerin-based curly hair products, so I was wary before I even put it in my hair. Sure enough, getting it through my curls required breaking them up, and then they wouldn't go back together into locks, leaving me with a big poof ball on my head all day. Plus it made my curls a little crunchy, even though I used a VERY conservative amoung. I'm very glad I didn't buy this based only on the reviews and (finally) got to sample it.
It smelled fresh and citrusy, which was nice.
This curl cream has a nice texture and smell. It helped define my curls without weighing them down. It doesn't control frizz quite as well as my current brand but I liked it.3
I definitely think that this product did its job as far as holding curl, but I couldn't help being reminded of the off brand toilet cleaner my mom used to buy. As hard as I tried, I couldn't justify this product's worth over the smell.2
Really liked the natural look it gave my curls. Doesn't work well in keeping the frizz away though.4
I used the tablespoon amount that the packet recommended, and regretted it. It was way too much. I think about half to a quarter of that amount might be good unless you have a ton of thick curls. It left my fine waves soft, but borderline greasy. I like the Devacurl much better.3
