After we color our hair, we worry about washing our new hue into oblivion. To avoid that brassy, faded, too-long-since-the-salon look, we can now prep our strands before we shampoo with this lightweight pre-wash primer. The oil-based formula seals the hair shaft, so water can't penetrate into strands and fade color. A few pumps of the sulfate-free treatment will leave you protected—while nourishing strands to prevent breakage.
Well, apparently, I don't. This was a total waste of time. I understand the concept, but why not just put a colour protectant IN your shampoo. Save everyone time and shower shelf space.1
I am a Nexxus fan. I typically like their products but this line is terrible. It was greasy and the process is awkward. The shampoo did not suds up and the conditioner could not penetrate after that terrible oil treatment. I had to re-wash my hair. I was super disappointed and downright disgusted.1
If I could give zero stars I would. This has to be the absolute worst hair product I have EVER used. Why would I want to repel water before washing my hair? I used as directed in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner that came in the three-pack of foils. After it dried my hair was a stiff and greasy/oily mess. Usually you can't tell if a product works for you from a tiny foil packet, but I know with 100% certainty I would NEVER use this again and wouldn't recommend it for anyone. Major FAIL.1
I can't imagine who reviewed this at Birchbox and thought others would love it. Putting this grease on my hair (NOT my roots) because I shampooed was weird. Why do I want to repelled water when I need to wash my hair? Well, it repelled the shampoo as my hair didn't suds up at all. My hair was terribly greasy the rest of the day. Terrible product. Got to a salon to get better color, do not use this.1
So...am I getting my hair clean so I can wash it, or keeping it from getting clean when I wash it? Either way, no thank you. Turns out it is the 2nd, if I wanted to coat my hair, I could just not wash it. Duh.1
I liked the way this smelled and was hoping it would work for me, but it didn't. It left my hair feeling heavy and oily feeling so I won't be purchasing this.1
This was a really good product for someone who colors their hair. It made it feel really good and my color looked good and seemed to last a little longer.4
This sample made my hair kind of feeling stringy. I possibly could have used to much and not rinsed it all out. I use another brand, so I won't be purchasing3
This primer really helps me hold my color longer! I am a little amazed at the difference it makes when I use it. The only downside is that I feel like I use more shampoo because it takes a bit more to get my hair to feel clean after using the primer. Still, I'm sold!5
I didn't like this product. It was super sticky and made my hair feel super oily. It was very watery so I was surprised by just how sticky and goopy it was.2
