After we color our hair, we worry about washing our new hue into oblivion. To avoid that brassy, faded, too-long-since-the-salon look, we can now prep our strands before we shampoo with this lightweight pre-wash primer. The oil-based formula seals the hair shaft, so water can't penetrate into strands and fade color. A few pumps of the sulfate-free treatment will leave you protected—while nourishing strands to prevent breakage.
I can't imagine who reviewed this at Birchbox and thought others would love it. Putting this grease on my hair (NOT my roots) because I shampooed was weird. Why do I want to repelled water when I need to wash my hair? Well, it repelled the shampoo as my hair didn't suds up at all. My hair was terribly greasy the rest of the day. Terrible product. Got to a salon to get better color, do not use this.1
If I could give zero stars I would. This has to be the absolute worst hair product I have EVER used. Why would I want to repel water before washing my hair? I used as directed in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner that came in the three-pack of foils. After it dried my hair was a stiff and greasy/oily mess. Usually you can't tell if a product works for you from a tiny foil packet, but I know with 100% certainty I would NEVER use this again and wouldn't recommend it for anyone. Major FAIL.1
I used this in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner, but when you color your hair, it usually doesn't fade after a single wash. that was all that the sample was for. So I couldn't really tell if it worked.3
Made my hair feel greasy. I don't wash my hair everyday so it's not for me1
I had never heard of a pre-wash primer before! It makes sense, though! I always wondered how to keep shampoo from stripping my color, and now I know! But this worked nicely, and I liked the smell a lot.4
Great for freshly colored hair - helps to protect the brassy effect of color treatments. Quick use before you shower, and smells great!3
I didn't get it. Made my hair oily and greasy then I washed it out. Didn't notice a difference in my hair afterwards good or bad.1
This is a neat idea, but I do not think that I would actually end up using the product if I purchased it.3
I didnt feel like this primer did much. The shampoo and conditioner that go along with this made my hair feel really dry.2
I felt that it worked for the few shampoos I had the sample for after I dyed my hair recently. Good product!4
