As professional photographers and smartphone snappers alike know, a little adjustment—be it a Photoshop contrast or an Instagram filter—can go a long way to making your subject look glamorous. But with this primer, we can do the smoothing-out. The lightweight formula softens skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines, and the hint of green counteracts redness.
I always have redness on cheeks and it really bugs me so I purchased this to help. It does help a little. The redness goes down slightly when I use this product. However, it's not good enough for the price. I was really hoping it would dim the redness a lot given that the reviews are so good. I guess I'll be searching for a new one.3
I really love this product! I have super red, fair skin. I was not sure that it was really doing anything, so after six months or so, I stopped for a couple days. MULTIPLE people asked me if I had been in the sun or if I was feeling okay because I looked flushed. I mean, really. I have probably used it for three years now and every once in a while, I try again to leave it off for a couple of days. I always get the same comments, confirming its effectiveness! The texture feels great, completely non-greasy. I am not sure how great it is for keeping makeup place. I don't really notice it doing a stellar job at that, but I do not have any complaints, either!5
I wanted this product to be amazing, but was a little disappointed. All other reviews said it worked really well. My guess is, it works really well if you have lighter skin. I have a medium to dark complexion and get rosey cheeks from irritated skin. It did work a little bit, but wasn't wow'd by any means. I didn't mind the oily feel that some people described - I noticed that you only felt that immediately, but then once it set it felt more like a very light powder.3
I like that this can be used by itself with a light dusting of powder in place of a heavy foundation with the same results.4
This primer works great! It does leave skin very soft and it diminishes the look of fine lines! I use this daily under my make up!5
this is a great primer! I use it under a BB cream and it leaves my skin looking smooth and even toned.5
I have rosy patches on my face and have typically hidden behind heavy foundation. This product alleviates some of the red and actually allows me to forgo the foundation and just add a little bronzer and blush. My boyfriend loves my fresh-faced look!4
This has been my main primer for 2 years now. I really like that it's not oily or drying - but it is pricey. I have found a way to knock down the cost a bit though. If you buy 2 travel sized ones, it's the same amount of product but it's about $6 (going off of memory) cheaper. I don't think they currently sell the travel sizes at birch box but they do have them at Ulta and Sephora.5
I tried this to color-correct some redness I have on my cheeks. It does help make it less noticeable, especially after the foundation goes on. It did minimize my pores somewhat, but not 100%. What I love is how long the rest of the makeup stays on with this underneath. I wish it was color-correcting and mattifying though.4
I love this primer! I have very sensitive skin as well as a lot of redness because of acne. This product is so refreshing & light weight!5
