As professional photographers and smartphone photo snappers alike know, a little after-the-fact adjustment—be it a Photoshop contrast or an Instagram filter—can go a long way to making your subject look glamorous. But we say: Who needs post-production? With this primer, we can do the smoothing-out ourselves. Not only does the lightweight formula soften skin reduce the appearance of fine lines, the hint of green counteracts redness. It leaves skin even and camera-ready—no filter necessary.
I always have redness on cheeks and it really bugs me so I purchased this to help. It does help a little. The redness goes down slightly when I use this product. However, it's not good enough for the price. I was really hoping it would dim the redness a lot given that the reviews are so good. I guess I'll be searching for a new one.3
I really love this product! I have super red, fair skin. I was not sure that it was really doing anything, so after six months or so, I stopped for a couple days. MULTIPLE people asked me if I had been in the sun or if I was feeling okay because I looked flushed. I mean, really. I have probably used it for three years now and every once in a while, I try again to leave it off for a couple of days. I always get the same comments, confirming its effectiveness! The texture feels great, completely non-greasy. I am not sure how great it is for keeping makeup place. I don't really notice it doing a stellar job at that, but I do not have any complaints, either!5
It really evens out my skin tone. I am very light skinned, so the summer sun leaves me a bit red and blotchy. This evens it out like a champ.5
I have problems with redness, and this primer corrects that even without foundation over it. It has a matte mousse-like silky texture and creates a kind of blended veil that subdues my redness and other imperfections.5
It feel really smooth when applied. I didn't notice much redness in my face change. Maybe it helps my makeup stay on better but, I dunno. Ehh. I'm still not sure it was worth the $40.. 3 stars might be generous3
I really wanted to love this product. It had such great reviews, so I went ahead and got the full size because i've been battling my skins pink undertones all my life. Well it did absolutely nothing for me. I didn't notice a difference at all. I followed the instructions and watched a tutorial on how to use it to make sure I was going about things correctly and still it made no difference whatsoever. It was a nice primer and helped my foundation go on smoothly, so that was a plus, but that's it. Such a bummer.2
I first tried Smashbox Color Correcting Primer about a month ago. I have very red skin, very dry, and it's the absolute worst! With this, it takes some of the redness away so I don't feel like a tomato whenever I go out. I wish it did just a little more, because I don't want to wear foundation all the time, and I have a Clinique cream primer that does the same thing, but a little better so I don't actually have to put more product on my face. Overall, great product, but I'm sticking with the Clinique version.4
Best Primer I have ever put on my face!! Goes on so smooth and always makes my make up look amazing! Not having the perfect skin this stuff works wonders for me!! Love it!5
This is my first face primer, so I was a bit skeptical, but what a difference. My face is just so red and uneven, and this is just pure magic. I barely need foundation, if at all! It is WELL worth the price.5
I've always struggled with redness on my face, especially around the center of my face. This product definitely helps with that. I wear it under my foundation and I love it. The only thing I'm not a fan of is it makes my nose feel a little greasy, but that's something I can live with.4
