With hues like glistening sand, glimmering water, and a shimmering sunset, all the best parts of summer (and, thankfully, none of the hair-wilting humidity) make an appearance in Ruffian’s new polish collection, available exclusively through Birchbox. The polishes are perfectly suited for the lazy, sunny days of summer—and the gleaming colors will conjure up a warm day at the beach long after the cold weather sets in.
I liked the formula of the nail polish it went on very pigmented but did not like the color at all.1
I got this set because I got a sample of another color, and loved the way that the nail polish looked. But I was disappointed with this set. The purple color was the best of the bunch. The beige color was a little boring, and the blue nail polish was clumpy. Almost as if it had already been opened and left out and then closed. Parts of the brush got stuck in the polish as I was putting it on because the bristles were loose. So I was a little disappointed.2
These are super goopy. I was not expecting that. They were also tiny and chipped on my super quickly. I feel like I wasted my money. I wish I would have just gotten a sample of these instead.2
I was looking forward to trying the endless summer collection, especially after I was so happy with Ambrosia (metallic lavender). Was not impressed with the colors. The pink was too dark, and the blue made my hands look darker. The nude color is ok, nothing spectacular. I will be returning this product.2
I recieved the neutral polish in my box and I like the color but the polish is very thick and hard to put on evenly, I had to put on 4 coats before I felt like the color looked even.3
I got this set in the Modern Mermaid box. I really love the colors (I'm wearing Sahara right now!) and the polish dries super fast. However, they are so small!! They're only 5 mL each. Not sure I would but this on its own for $26.50, that seems pretty steep.3
Love the nude color, but this stuff is so thick. Took forever to dry. Perhaps a more expert hand would better apply this nail polish in thinner layers.3
These colors do not say "summer" to me. The beige color made me look like I was missing a fingernail because it was so close to the color of my skin. I didn't love the type of shimmer in it, either. It wore pretty well, which prolonged how long I wore the colors that I wasn't wild about. I gave away the taupe to a colleague who has more of an olive skin tone. I see myself wearing the blue and purple more often in the fall, as these colors seem much more appropriate for that season than they do for summer.3
The colors are striking, but the polish is a little "gloppy" going on. Dries to a pretty color, but needs plenty of time to dry before setting.
Ruffian is a smooth, long lasting nail polish that comes in some of the best colors out there. The matte colors are classy and beautiful and the shiny colors are fun and vibrant. The sample sizes actually have a lot of applications within them. The polish is also easy to remove. Ruffian is a great nail polish.4
