Dirt sources its ingredients straight from the earth, so it’s no surprise that their signature body scrub is wholesome and downright appetizing. It polishes your skin while replenishing lost moisture with a blend of fine salt particles, fruit extracts, and essential oils. Both varieties smell sweet and pack plenty of exfoliating power—lemon leaf has a slightly coarse texture and is laced with raspberry seeds.
First off, this smells amazing. I purchased the lemon leaf one, and I can't believe how wonderful it is! I use it especially on my elbows and knees, and this has helped my dry skin so much! I feel like it does the perfect job sloughing off dead skin and allowing my healthy, younger skin to breathe and shine. I literally feel like my skin is glowing now that I use this.5
I love this scrub, smells great and doesn't dry my skin.
It's very moisturizing. Great for scrubbing dry feet or elbows.
I not only loved the scent but how great it made me skin feel afterward. It was only slightly gritty but the smaller particles seemed to get into my skin better. My skin felt really soft after and smelt fantastic!5
Absolutely the worst product I've ever used in my entire life. The smell was lovely (I love anything lemon or lime scented). That is the only positive aspect of it though.
The film mentioned by several other users is unbelievable. I felt as though I'd slathered bacon grease on my body. Even with washing AFTER the scrub with multiple products, I couldn't get the oily feeling to go away. It is ALL OVER the shower, and now has a disgusting film which I have yet to have the gumption to clean (because I know its going to be a pain to deal with). Our shower floor mat (to prevent slipping) no longer sticks to the floor because of the leftover grease from the scrub and is basically useless/causing more of a hazard than help. Finally, I warned my boyfriend "Don't try the scrub I left in the bathroom; it's terrible". Of coarse, he didn't believe me. It was a terrible experience for him too. Afterwards he threw out the entire container (which had only been used the two times-- once by each of us) because it was so greasy & unpleasant.
Don't waste your money on this.
I adored this sample. It smells wonderful and isn't too greasy. I really like to use a scrub once a week and this was a great option. Adore!5
I us this product once a week. My heels stay soft and they are not cracking. When I go for pedicures the tech ask me how I keep my heels so soft. I tell them it is from the magic dirt.5
Just like previous reviewers have stated there is a film that is left behind. However I have to say this is one of my favorite products that have come in my Birchbox. It has such a great scent and use it as a treat. A little on the pricey side but ordered the full size version. I also plan on ordering this again.5
I really, really loved my tiny sample of this scrub. The smell was heavenly and it left my skin smooth and glowing. When I saved up enough points, I splurged on the full-sized scrub. But for some reason, my experience was not the same. The texture was thicker and didn't spread as easily as before. Maybe this has something to do with the winter weather? Perhaps the cold is causing the oils to solidify. I've put it away for now and hope to try it again later this summer.3
I like the way this smelled more than anything else! The scrub aspect was only alright. I didn't' get a great scrub out of it and didn't feel like it was a good exfoliator. However, the smell was relaxing and soothing. I think that I would like this more if I it was a bath oil than a scrub.3
I received this as a sample and splurged on the full size. I like it a lot and use it mainly on my dry patches once or twice a week. It is pretty oily but really helps my winter dry spots....arms, legs, feet. I absolutely love the smell.4
