Dirt sources its ingredients straight from the earth, so it’s no surprise that their signature body scrub is wholesome and downright appetizing. It polishes your skin while replenishing lost moisture with a blend of fine salt particles, fruit extracts, and essential oils. Both varieties smell sweet and pack plenty of exfoliating power—lemon leaf has a slightly coarse texture and is laced with raspberry seeds.
Absolutely the worst product I've ever used in my entire life. The smell was lovely (I love anything lemon or lime scented). That is the only positive aspect of it though.
The film mentioned by several other users is unbelievable. I felt as though I'd slathered bacon grease on my body. Even with washing AFTER the scrub with multiple products, I couldn't get the oily feeling to go away. It is ALL OVER the shower, and now has a disgusting film which I have yet to have the gumption to clean (because I know its going to be a pain to deal with). Our shower floor mat (to prevent slipping) no longer sticks to the floor because of the leftover grease from the scrub and is basically useless/causing more of a hazard than help. Finally, I warned my boyfriend "Don't try the scrub I left in the bathroom; it's terrible". Of coarse, he didn't believe me. It was a terrible experience for him too. Afterwards he threw out the entire container (which had only been used the two times-- once by each of us) because it was so greasy & unpleasant.
Don't waste your money on this.
I got a sample of this and decided to try it. It didn't really scrub my skin, plus it left a residue that could be likened to lard or petroleum jelly. I had to use another body scrub (one that actually works!) just to remove that residue. I would never use this again.1
I had the lemon leaf and I was very excited because I love scrubs. I was disappointed with my sample because it was extremely oily and a little too rough for me. I had to wash my shower/tub because of the oil residue left behind. My bathroom smelt great though.1
I was so excited about this when I saw it had came in my birchbox, but I was so disappointed when I went to use it and found that it burned my skin. It was painful and worried me so I rinsed it off as soon as it happened. I tried once more to use it a few months later and the same thing happened. The product just scared me after that so I threw it in the trash.1
I had high-hopes for this product, and really wanted to love it because my skin had been getting really dry and flaky... but I didn't. When I first opened it, I immediately was blasted with the smell of lemon scented Lysol wipes. That's not exactly what I want a face-product to smell like, by-the-way. I decided to give it a try anyways, and used it straight away. I scooped out a generous amount and scrubbed my face with it. It was hardly exfoliating at all - the granules where few and far between. Also, any little cuts I had on my hands stung a little because it has lemon in it. Once I rinsed and dried my face, it felt as though I had slathered a thin layer of Crisco on my skin... it was awful. Will not be purchasing.1
This one was really oily. My skin felt gross and unclean after I used it. I'm sure it really moisturizes, but this one is not for me.1
