For natural, unfussy waves, nothing beats a dip in the ocean. But short of moving to the Caribbean, theres no way to recreate that look at a moments notice—or so we thought. This two-in-one spray adds texture and shine to our hair, allowing us to create a piecey, tousled look minus the stiffening effects of salt water. Oribe's special Beach Wave Complex uses hydrolyzed wheat protein, vitamin B, copolymers, and amber extracts to pump up each hair shaft and add wavy texture. Meanwhile, a mix of moisturizers, including safflower seed oil and marigold extract, heals dry ends, and galanga root extracts contribute a natural dose of UV protection. It's suitable for all hair types, from superfine to ultrathick, and also safe for color-treated or processed strands.
I'll start out saying you definitely have to know what you're doing when attempting to use a beach spray. This is what I did and what worked beautifully for my middle-of-my-back, fine, wavy hair. Out of the shower I applied a curl cream (I used MoroccanOil curl cream) and scrunched hair as usual. Then once 90% dry, I sprayed some of this beach spray all over in sections and then braided my hair in a regular braid. Slept on it. Woke up and undid the braid.. sprayed more beach spray all over and used my curling wand to fix flat pieces and curl the ends. My hair has never looked more beautifully wavy or "beachy". Wish I could add a photo.. got compliments all day. This is such a wonderful product with texture and shine! And smells wonderful like all Oribe products :)4
Maybe my hair is just destined to be straight straight straight forever, but this product is worthless for me. I tried it in a variety of ways--dry hair, wet hair, air dry, blow dry. At best it just made me look like I didn't brush my hair. Maybe it works better for people with hair with more natural curl than mine, but I'll pass.2
I tried this on my wet hair, as per suggestion on the bottle. I didn't expect it to make my hair as greasy looking as it did. I would try again, but will make sure to keep the spray to my ends. I usually try to get some volume in my roots, but with this product, that didn't seem to work. It might work better on someone with some natural curl, not on someone who has straight hair looking for beachy waves.3
I like this spray because it makes my hair look very shiny and healthy, and gives me that just walked out of the ocean mermaid hair look that I like. =)4
my hair is so thick and usually doesn't respond well to sea salt sprays but for some reason I love them lol. i loved that this did not leave my hair feeling oily and did provide a light texture and i really enjoyed!4
Loved the smell... And it definitely have my curly hair a wind swept beach look... But it needs some moisture or something. My hair felt too dry.3
Maybe I don't know how to use these beach sprays, because this stuff just made my hair a little shinier, and did nothing for volume or waves. Super straight hair here3
Instead of soft waves that had a bounce, I ended up with a hard brittle texture. I felt like I dumped a whole bottle of hair spray into my hair with just three spritz. Not a fan, to say the least.2
A great quick way to get a tousled beach look! Smells great which is always a must! A little goes a long way!4
I was hopping for beach hair and unfortunately all I got was a hair spray feeling in my hair. I tried this multiple times with damp hair, wet hair and dry hair but no luck at all. I did not like the smell either. I was expecting salty hence the beach but to me it smelled like chemical ... I dunno it's a pass for me.2
