For natural, unfussy waves, nothing beats a dip in the ocean. But short of moving to the Caribbean, theres no way to recreate that look at a moments notice—or so we thought. This two-in-one spray adds texture and shine to our hair, allowing us to create a piecey, tousled look minus the stiffening effects of salt water. Oribe's special Beach Wave Complex uses hydrolyzed wheat protein, vitamin B, copolymers, and amber extracts to pump up each hair shaft and add wavy texture. Meanwhile, a mix of moisturizers, including safflower seed oil and marigold extract, heals dry ends, and galanga root extracts contribute a natural dose of UV protection. It's suitable for all hair types, from superfine to ultrathick, and also safe for color-treated or processed strands.
I've collected a number of salt sprays, shine sprays and hair sprays over the years, and recently discovered that the Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray delivers a 1-2-3 punch by combining a bit of each into one great product. Happy to report this works well in super fine hair as well. Added bonus, it smells great too!
What is this magic in a can?! I sprayed about 3 times on each side of my iron-curled hair and achieved the tousled look that I thought was only possible for my hair stylist to produce. After the first try, it is already my favorite of all texture sprays! Usually when I use texture spray it achieves the messy look I want but with clumpy sticky hair, but not with Oribe! My hair stays soft and light. Will definitely buy this in the future!5
I'll start out saying you definitely have to know what you're doing when attempting to use a beach spray. This is what I did and what worked beautifully for my middle-of-my-back, fine, wavy hair. Out of the shower I applied a curl cream (I used MoroccanOil curl cream) and scrunched hair as usual. Then once 90% dry, I sprayed some of this beach spray all over in sections and then braided my hair in a regular braid. Slept on it. Woke up and undid the braid.. sprayed more beach spray all over and used my curling wand to fix flat pieces and curl the ends. My hair has never looked more beautifully wavy or "beachy". Wish I could add a photo.. got compliments all day. This is such a wonderful product with texture and shine! And smells wonderful like all Oribe products :)4
This gives my fine, color treated, straight hair needed shine and texture. I use a little in wet hair and then a little more on dry hair. Gave me a great hair day, which is rare. Tip, use sparingly.5
Okay, so how I use it.... I curl/wave my hair with a curling wand, then when I finish and tousle my hair to make sure it doesn't look like curls, and more like actual waves, I spray this all over... You would not imagine the instant shine that it provides. There is also a slight hold, so that it keeps your hair in place (yet still flexible!). I don't know how well it would work on wet/damp hair, but the way I use it is fabulous and a truly fantastic product.5
my hair is so thick and usually doesn't respond well to sea salt sprays but for some reason I love them lol. i loved that this did not leave my hair feeling oily and did provide a light texture and i really enjoyed!4
I'm not sure what the purpose of this product is really, it seems sort of like a dry shampoo, or just a spray to add shine. But it didn't seem to do anything to my thick, naturally wavy hair, except make it frizz out like crazy. Would definitely not purchase or recommend.2
But that's about it unfortunately. I really wanted to like this product as it smells amazing and I have used some of their others and really enjoyed it. I have shoulderlength hair and often do my hair in loose beachy waves and was hoping this would add something a little extra but felt it just hung flat and wasn't any better than my current routine.4
Beach waves are one of my favorite ways to style my hair, and this spray definitely did the trick! It works really great with my hair and give me the style that I want!5
I loved the way this stuff smelled, but I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to do. Is it supposed to be hairspray? It holds hair in place but didn't really add any texture that I could see2
