For natural, unfussy waves, nothing beats a dip in the ocean. But short of moving to the Caribbean, theres no way to recreate that look at a moments notice—or so we thought. This two-in-one spray adds texture and shine to our hair, allowing us to create a piecey, tousled look minus the stiffening effects of salt water. Oribe's special Beach Wave Complex uses hydrolyzed wheat protein, vitamin B, copolymers, and amber extracts to pump up each hair shaft and add wavy texture. Meanwhile, a mix of moisturizers, including safflower seed oil and marigold extract, heals dry ends, and galanga root extracts contribute a natural dose of UV protection. It's suitable for all hair types, from superfine to ultrathick, and also safe for color-treated or processed strands.
I recently purchased this product with a little help of my birchbox points, before ordering this I read a lot of reviews and such not only in birchbox but other blogs and websites as well, I mean legs be honest it's a pretty penny to buy and not get all the information first. I'm 25 and I have two boys my youngest being 10months, before him my hair texture was slightly frizzy and had a lot of natural wave to it, after it's still slightly frizzy and courser but has no wave, so frustrating, it's just completely flat and straight. I always have to flat iron wave my hair and hairspray it, which really dries it out. So I wanted a product that would put some body back into my hair and bring a natural wave to it. This product did just that!! I've read some reviews where people have said it just didn't live up to what they thought, not to be rude, but no bottle is going to give you victoria secret waves, only a flat iron or curling iron can produce those, BUT if your looking for actual ocean hair then this will deliver ! My hair is soft and bouncy but also piecey and a slight wave, just as if I would have gone in the ocean. I think before buying you should know how your hair normally looks after a dip in the ocean and expect a more polished version of that. I also found depending in the method I use it determines the outcome as well, if applied to wet or damp hair I end up with slightly more frizz and need to use a little polish serum, if applied dry I do t have any frizz but have to go back through with my iron and wave some ends which is completely fine with me because it looks amazing! And I'm not talking my whole head so it's not super time consuming either. I also read a lot of people were let down by the smell, I love it, no it does not smell like coppertone or artificial coconut, it smells like tropical island flowers! Which is a lot better to me since I don't want my hair smelling artificial. I have medium length hair and I don't have to use very much product to get my desired result, although I could see how easily this product is to over use because it's that amazing, its also really good to use right at my roots for some lift and texture and just smoothing the rest of my hair so id say it's also very versatile. I would recommend this product for sure.5
love the texture and wave this product gives my hair. it is super easy to use and smells great! huge bottle !! it will last for a long time!
This is probably one of the best products I have ever used. Oribe products are worth every penny but you have to know how to use them. I get my hair cut at their salon in Miami and this product should be sprayed down on the hair from mid-shaft to the ends. I absolutely love this product.5
Like the smell, it's a nice light product on. Great for adding a little texture & shine. My only complaint is that I wish it lasted all day. You do have to reapply after about 6 hours or so.4
Started using this product after I got the sample... Really like the texture it gives my hair. Think that the smell is a bit overwhelming, but am thankful if i don't wash my hair the day after, because it still smells amazing. Generally, I have to put it on as soon as I hop out of the shower for the best results.4
This is the most amazing product that I use- it even smells good! It can also make dirty hair smell fresh and polished!5
I love the way this makes my hair looks and it smells great. The only downfall is that I usually only wash my long locks twice a week, but when I use this product, I need to wash after a day of use or else my hair looks greasy and feels course. However, I love the look therefore the extra wash worth it.4
This product doesn't do anything for me except smell nice. And if I overdo it, it makes my hair sticky and dull looking. Stick to a regular salt spray, it's cheaper and more effective!2
This product is a great end of day refresher for my thick, curly hair. It gives it shine and texture (which helps my curl shape) while taming fly aways. The two major drawbacks are the signature strong Oribe smell (I wish it was a bit more subtle) and the price.4
I've been on a quest to find the perfect beach wave spray that I could just spray and go and end up with fabulous beachy waves. I was really hoping that this would be the one since I fell in love with Oribes Dry Texture Spray. This spray is not the miracle product I was hoping it would be, but it's not awful. This spray gives a slight texture, while leaving your hair soft to the touch unlike other beach sprays. And it smells AMAZING just like all Oribe products. I've found that this product works best when used in combination with the dry texture spray.4
