For natural, unfussy waves, nothing beats a dip in the ocean. But short of moving to the Caribbean, theres no way to recreate that look at a moments notice—or so we thought. This two-in-one spray adds texture and shine to our hair, allowing us to create a piecey, tousled look minus the stiffening effects of salt water. Oribe's special Beach Wave Complex uses hydrolyzed wheat protein, vitamin B, copolymers, and amber extracts to pump up each hair shaft and add wavy texture. Meanwhile, a mix of moisturizers, including safflower seed oil and marigold extract, heals dry ends, and galanga root extracts contribute a natural dose of UV protection. It's suitable for all hair types, from superfine to ultrathick, and also safe for color-treated or processed strands.
I have naturally wavy hair but can never achieve the messy beach look. With or without product, it just gets too curly or frizzy when I attempt it. The Oribe Wave and Shine Spray totally helped me nail it! I get the perfect amount of wave every time. I also appreciate the body it gives my hair. I'm totally sold on this product.5
I have fairly wavy hair and live in a humid climate, and this product was not at all right for me. It made my hair look greasy in sections and didn't help with my frizz AT ALL. It gave no texture or definition. I ended up returning the product...thank goodness for Birchbox's awesome return policy!1
I was introduced to this by my stylist, who is an Oribe devotee big time (it's my first time with the line), and she suggested it as an alternative to the sticky, salty beach texturizers that I'm more than a little addicted to. Here's how I'd break this down:
Wave-ifying: 2.5 out of 5. It's not going to make straight hair wavy. It really just gives you a lil something if you've already styled your hair.
Shine: 5 out of 5. Awesome, super-shiny finish. I've gotten a lot of comments on how shiny my hair looks when I use it. Just be careful not to go overboard. I've had greasy days when I wasn't careful to just really get the ends and mid lengths.
Scent: 5 out of 5. This smells expensive and sexy. My boyfriend Loves the way my hair smells when I use it.
It's a little pricey, sure-- but I think a worthy treat and fun to experiment with ;)
This is an amazing spray. I can't believe glistening beach bum hair can come out of a can. But beware. A little goes a long way and this may be a summer-use only product. The first time I used it I ended up with oily, droopy locks of hair.4
This spray not only gave my hair killer waves and texture, it gave it shine and kept it feeling silky unlike all those salt sprays that dry out your hair. Definitely a must have.5
This is the best wave making spray I have ever used and I bet I have tried 20 or more. Non sticky and makes my hair really shiny.5
Smells wonderful, leaves hair so silky smooth and shiny after use! I use it both on damp and dry hair for added shine and waves. It really leaves your hair feeling soft and sexy!4
This is a great product for my naturally wavy hair. I love how my hair reacts to the salt water air and humidity when we go to the ocean. I've tried several "beach" hair sprays and most leave my hair feeling very dry and crunchy and don't always deliver great results. The Oribe is my favorite, and it smells TERRIFIC!5
This spray really doesn't do much for my hair, but I do love the smell. When I use this spray for beach waves, I always end up needing other products, as well.3
Surprise, it does NOT give you fab beach waves from a can. My fingers were crossed when I ordered it because of how amazing the dry texturizing spray was, but was disappointed with the outcome and how nasty it made my hair. Returned!!3
