As lifelong collectors, we’ve gone through many phases: from Barbies and Beanie Babies to shoes and makeup. But these days, we’re paring down our beauty collection to the essentials. These innovative mousse eye shadows make the cut: the shimmery colors won’t crease, smudge, or fade. Best of all, you can forgo the brush and swipe them on directly with your fingertips.
I have bought this eye shadows in Moonlight, Starlight, and Galaxy. I love that you can easily apply these shadows with your fingers. It leaves behind a beautiful light classy shimmer shadow. The moonlight color is a nice light golden color that complimented my fair skin with blue-green eyes and blonde hair. The starlight color was more pink and didn't look as great with my coloring so I gave it to my mom and it looks beautiful on her! She has darker skin, green eyes, and golden brown hair. I use the galaxy color as a liner it says it's a soft bronze and for some reason I was expecting a brighter bronze but it looks darker in the pot I received.5
I had been looking for a pale pink to use as a base color and I finally found it! Long lasting with just enough shimmer.5
i got this in Moonlight. It's a sparkly, soft gold, and not at all brassy - a very flattering shade of gold. I've tried other high end creme eyeshadows and this is by far the best in every aspect. The texture is very light, super easy to apply and it didn't dry out my over 40 eyelids like all of the others i've tried. The color is beautiful, build-able, and lasts all day. It is costly, but so worth it if you like sparkle!5
I have purchased many Jouer products and been extremely happy with them so when I saw the Long Wear Creme Mousse Eyeshadows I thought that would be just as creamy as their lipsticks. The colors are lovely but the consistency of the Creme is just not very creamy in fact it's a bit on the gritty side, which I did NOT expect from Jouer. So the two lovely shades are going back because my skin is thin enough on my 60 year old eyelids so I need truly creme eyeshadow but I want to be careful because the other cremes can be so slick they simply crease and/or slide off my eyelids so the lesser of the evil might just be the Jouer Mousse Eyeshadows but I will keep hunting for the perfect product for my lids and I'm sure Birchbox will have it if I just keep my eyes open, all puns intended.3
I purchased this product in Night Sky and Galaxy after reading about it on a beauty blog and falling in love with the pretty colors. Galaxy is a pleasant taupe that goes on with relative ease ( I use my fingertips) and is buildable for a nice single product eye look. You can use it to deepen the crease after putting it all over for a wash of shimmer if you'd like. Night sky is meh, and even though I was sent a replacement which was nice of Birchbox, the formula seems to be flawed for this one in that it is shrunken from the edges of its container before you even open it. Galaxy is useful for taupe lovers, but I think it may have fair subs for its performance.3
Beautiful color in the jar or on the eyes. Not to glittery, but it does go on in a natural color.4
I got starlight and moonlight and love the colors and the lasting wear I get from them. They really sparkle on. Moonlight looks very gold, but goes on much more subtle than the color you see. Either color can be layered for a more color. The hardest part for me is getting the color out and on. If you don't want to use your finger, use an old fashioned eye shadow brush to get better coverage per stroke. A standard brush won't work unless you want a very sheen top coat effect.4
I found this a little difficult to apply at first. Now that I have the hang of it, it is super easy and fast. It isn't a cream, and it isn't a powder, but it is in between.
I usually apply it with my finger over my eyelids when I just need a quick natural look and don't want to mess with layers of powder eyeshadow. I have also used an angle brush to apply it over black eyeliner to soften the look and that works well too.
I purchased the dusk color which looks like a deep taupe in the jar, but goes on much more subtle which I like. You can keep layering to make it more intense if you want a more dramatic look. I also use it as a base for other eye shadows I have and the whole eye look will last all day.
I purchased this eyeshadow in Dusk and the color in the container looks great, a nice brassy shimmery brown. However, upon opening the container the shadow moved around in the glass holder. I thought, hmmm that's strange, I thought this was a mousse cream shadow. I thought maybe it was dried up because this definitely is NOT what I would describe as a luxurious mousse shadow. One other Birchbox customer described it perfectly. Applying this with your finger was almost gritty in texture and I wasn't happy with coverage using an eyeshadow brush. For the price, I am very disappointed in this shadow and am considering returning it (if possible).2
BEAUTIFUL colors and shine
Nice, whipped, mousse-like texture
Excellent blend ability-seriously, you can't put this on wrong
The eyeshadow dries out WAAAY too quickly. I actually loved this product and used it at least 3 times a week for almost two months, and the product slowly got smaller, and smaller, sort of like it was drying up. Then, one day when I had the pot in one hand and was reaching for something, it fell right out! I was SO bummed, but because I've gotten such beautiful results with it, I *might* repurchase it.
Just be sure to screw the lid down really well to help combat it drying out.
