Dads and younger brothers alike dig this dapper scent. Housed in smoky glass with a spring top reminiscent of a vintage beer bottle, John Varvatos’ cologne, like his designs, exudes a combination of off-kilter downtown cool and elegant prep. Also available in a smaller, 1.7 oz version.
Star USA is a very masculine scent. It doesn't smell bad, but it smells like so many other scents out there. It is just not unique enough for me.3
It's tough with fragrances to give a review that replies to everybody -- people have different preferences. For me, it was a little 'sweet' smelling, more like a perfume. I didn't enjoy the scent enough to purchase again. I will say, a little bit does go a long way and last awhile, so if you like the scent, it should last you awhile.2
Like any fragrance, it's totally up to the individual on wether they like it or not. I don't see any new barriers being broken with this one, however it is a good clean fragrance and does have an air of distinction.2
I prefer a light scent that smells clean, polished, and sophisticated. Star U.S.A. is too heavy and thick for my use. I know it's hard to hit the nail on the head with cologne, but I personally prefer not to smell like I just walked out of Hollister.
However, as I am not particularly built, this scent may better suit a different body type.
