We know that you’re a sample connoisseur (it takes one to know one, after all)—and in the Ace Exclusive Sample Pack, we’re busting out the top-shelf stuff for the Birchbox Aces, members of our VIP program, with any purchase of $75+ in the Shop. This exclusive kit contains three samples of products we’re absolutely wild about right this minute, bundled in a stylish makeup bag. The truly awesome part: The products’ identities will remain secret until you receive your order.
I expected to get 3 amazing samples, but honestly the 2 free with $35 were better samples than what I received with the Ace Exclusive Bonus Pack. I think it's like most things, hit or miss. I do think an Ace Exclusive bonus pack should just be priced at $15 and then you get it free with $75(like the free with $35). That way you can still use a coupon code and maximize your samples! Or, the opportunity to choose the samples would make spending $75 to get it VERY worth it. Good concept, just needs tweaked to make it worthwhile.3
To me this was like the mystery 2 pack but with one extra sample. I received a small sample of the Jurlique brightening serum, a small bottle of nail polish, and a coastal scents eye shadow four-pack sample that I already received in my June Birchbox.
I was disappointed considering the description says that it features three deluxe samples that the staff hand selects.
Also, I don't think this should be with a $75+ order. I think this should be exactly like the mystery 2-pack but for ACE members where you add it to your cart if you qualify and then you can still use a promo for either another item or for a discount.
I took a gamble and opted for the Aces Bonus Pack with my order because I've never tried it before. So disappointed. Never. Ever. Again.
The problem is unlike the two free samples if you spend 35 deal, you have to substitute your promo code to get this deal. So instead of using the NEXTBOXFREE code (or any other of the many bonus codes I had available), I figured I'd try this one. The products are a little better than the kind of samples you get in the two free for 35 deal, but you have to give up a promo code for extra points or other deals which is absolutely positively not worth it.
What did I get? A sketchy Pop Beauty lip gloss, bitsy Revealed eyeshadow quad, and a silly "nail art" white pen. The problem? I got the same eyeshadow quad one box ago and tossed it after being disappointed with the quality after multiple wears, the bright fuschia lip gloss looks sketchy with visible clumps in the container (from the heat of shipping to AZ?), and a glorified white out pen would just ruin my manicure.
I love Birchbox because of the skin and hair care products! If I wanted cheap makeup I would have just stuck with the *other* monthly beauty box that delivers nothing but that. More than disappointed in my stupid decision. Trashing the lip gloss and giving everything else away.
Learned my lesson! Never opting for the chintzy "perk" again.
I received my Ace Sample pack yesterday and was a little disappointed. While the samples were nice (small Jurlique Serum, small DDF serum and a Microderma mitt for the face) I was not impressed with the selection. The Jurlique serum was practically empty. It seems to me like it is just a pick two with an extra product. In order to receive this pack you have to give up any discount code you have available or anything else in the bonus shop. If it worked like the Pick Two where you just add it to your cart and could still use your discount code or get an additional product from the Bonus shop then it would be worth it to me.2
I thought that I would just get three normal samples with this, but the value was actually around $30. I got a Artclub Nail Art Duo pen (full size), Pop Beauty Aqua Lacquer (full size), and The Balm How bout them apples sample. I got this in addition to the $35+ order two free samples.5
This is such a thoughtful concept and I receive an AWSOME ace bones pack, all the items were great and relevant to me.5
I love the surprise of the extra Birchbox samples (I've added on the other sample pack for non-Aces before), but this set was a dud. All 3 samples were ones I've already received in my monthly Birchbox - one of which was eyeshadow in which I had purchased the full-size. It would be nice if Birchbox had a way to see what you've already received and/or purchased and surprise you with something new.3
Bumped my order up an extra 25 bucks thinking that the bonus pack would be... packed with bonus awesomeness.... and when I received it... it was very lackluster to say the least.2
What great samples! I was amazed at the variety and quality of these products. It was like getting a surprise gift.5
I was very disappointed with this bonus pack and will continue with the $35+ pack int the future. Very very disappointed!1
