Professional Japanese mountain climbers use this all-over moisturizer to keep their skin protected when they’re scaling Mount Everest, so you know there must be something special about it. Invented by a pharmacist back in the 1950’s, Yu-Be has been Japan’s top-selling skin cream for over fifty years. Great for head-to-toe hydration, it helps with all forms of stubborn dryness, including flaky red skin, chapped lips, and callused feet. The natural formula is free of ingredients like artificial dyes, fragrances, and petrolatum. It’s so gentle that even infants and kids can safely use it.
Blah packaging, tiny sample, weird Carmex smell...but wow. This is the only cream that takes care of my painfully dry hands.
The weird smell fades away quickly. I even used it on my chapped lips. Had to buy more!
This lotion works okay for my skin. I dislike the smell and will be sticking with my other lotions and moisturizers.3
Has a weird minty scent. Too oily for my tastes, and make my hands kind of burn. Probably not going to purchase.3
I haven't used this on anything else except on my lips. The consistency (and smell) is like Vaseline. However, it has worked really well on my super dry lips.3
There was an art project a few years back called "Significant Objects" that tested whether people were willing to pay more for an object when a talented writer wrote a story to go with it. (you can search for it; there's a whole website) I feel like the marketing folk for this moisturizer must have taken those lessons to heart, given the included tale of the Japanese pharmacist's secret and how travelers discovered the cream.
That said, I can't help but like the stuff. I like glycerin moisturizers when my skin has been a bit damaged. This one is effective enough, the quickly-fading medicinal scent makes it interesting to apply, and the story *is* good. I may even buy more!
i am always on the hunt for a great moisturizer and this one definitely made the cut. the smell and rich, rich texture is right up my alley! the size and packaging were a little less than; but for the product inside, it was a great sample!3
I didn't care for this the lotion part was ok but to me I like my lotion to smell good and this didn't.4
I have extremely dry sensitive skin, and this helped it very quickly. I just wish my sample was larger.5
This product reminded me of vicks vaper rub. I did use it on my hands and although it did seem to work well I just couldn't get past the smell. I also used it on my hubby rough feet and he said that it was too greasy for him. I would not buy this product.3
I had first heard of the brand from a friend, and owned the lip balm. Was excited to use their skincare products, and they didn't disappoint. I have sensitive skin, and this didn't break me out, or leave a weird film-y on top of my skin like some facial creams do.4
