Professional Japanese mountain climbers use this all-over moisturizer to keep their skin protected when they're scaling Mount Everest, so you know there must be something special about it. Invented by a pharmacist back in the 1950s, Yu-Be has been Japan's top-selling skin cream for over 50 years. Great for head-to-toe hydration, it helps with all forms of stubborn dryness, including flaky red skin, chapped lips, and callused feet. The natural formula is free of ingredients like artificial dyes, fragrances, and petrolatum. It's so gentle that even infants and kids can safely use it.
It reminds me a lot of Carmex. It's effective but it's not pretty and doesn't smell good. It's clumpy and gross. It's thick and messy to apply. It DOES work though! I used it on my lips and around my cuticles. It's not a fun experience on the lips though. Really weird and gross. It's greasy on my hands too. I think it's one of those things you pull out in a desperate situation for quick relief. Definitely not an everyday product.3
After reading previous reviews, I was worried about the smell of this product. However, the smell is very similar to petroleum jelly and is very mild!
The product itself is fantastic! I originally tried it alone as a facial moisturizer and was surprised how quickly my skin absorbed it without leaving a residue. In addition, it didn't clog my pores!
The best use, in my opinion, is as a lip moisturizer. It's great alone, but even better when mixed with a lip liner! I lined my lips with a dark red liner and used this product to blur it and create an all over color. The best part was how moisturized and soft my lips were while the product was on and after I removed it.
Overall, this is a great find and I purchased the full size. I definitely recommend this as an all over beauty product without harsh chemicals and additives.
I was excited to try this new product but was disappointed with the smell of it. It seemed to work well when I used it, but after several days I really could not tolerate the scent. I would love to be able to try an unscented version of this cream.3
I will say it is effective- I see myself using it on dry chapped knuckles on a cold day. However, it smells very medicine-y, almost like Vicks vapor rub and feels greasy once on2
I actually received this as a mystery sample some time ago and again in my box for last month. Cream works well leaving skin nice and smooth. However, it does have that Carmex smell so I wasn't so keen on that.4
Feels like Vaseline could not use this on my skin as it was way too thick2
This product was described to be used on skin or lips but it's very thick and has a medicated smell to it. I didn't like it for use on either, but I also don't like thick lotions.3
I have only tried this on my lips so far, but it seems to work well. The only downfall is that it goes on white on your lips, so I only put it on before bed. Don't accidentally lick your lips either, yuck!4
I liked it but I felt the sample wasn't really big enough to give an accurate depiction of how the product works. I did like the way it felt though4
Love how well this product works on dry skin and versatile for the lips, feet, hands and body. Great product while I'm on the go for my purse. Recommend.4
