Professional Japanese mountain climbers use this all-over moisturizer to keep their skin protected when they're scaling Mount Everest, so you know there must be something special about it. Invented by a pharmacist back in the 1950s, Yu-Be has been Japan's top-selling skin cream for over 50 years. Great for head-to-toe hydration, it helps with all forms of stubborn dryness, including flaky red skin, chapped lips, and callused feet. The natural formula is free of ingredients like artificial dyes, fragrances, and petrolatum. It's so gentle that even infants and kids can safely use it.
After years of cooking in a restaurant I don't exactly have the silky smooth hands of a gentry lady. This product really helped get rid of the "emery board" quality of my hands. The smell was quite strong and a little chemically.4
This moisturizer is perfect for a quick fix of dry skin. It moisturizes dry skin quickly, without leaving a greasy effect. The only downfall is that it can be a little hard to rub in.4
It is indeed very moisturizing. A little goes a long way. I suffer from chapped lips and this was very beneficial.5
This product does a great job at moisturizing! The smell is not so great, but I would still use it for its moisturizing properties.4
This was a good moisturizer I have very dry skin but it can become very oily especially during the summer this kept my face hydrated without the shiny appearance and oily feel4
This moisturizer was great. Super thick formula. Didn't really care for the smell though. I have very oily skin and some dry patches. I used this at night for deep hydration.5
Thank you birchbox for reminding me how much I love Yu-Be. I was introduced to it ages ago and somehow forgot how amazingly hydrating it was. I have to be careful with it unlike with my other more floral handcreams as if I leave it around the house *everyone* uses it since it has more of a metro menthol scent. The skin cream is great, the chapstick is great, the body polish is great, the whole brand is great. Just do yourself a favor and buy like 7 tubes and leave them everywhere you can think of.5
This product worked quite well and I used it on my elbows and feet, it worked really well and made them very soft5
I received this as a sample from Birchbox. I applied it to my lips and made them so soft. I wish it was bigger thou5
Ok, the hook "this is used by Japanese mountain climbers to keep their skin soft and protected" got me! My husband has severe eczema on his hands first brought on by stress five years ago and his hands are so rough and dry they crack open and bleed. It's not pretty. Hubby says it's painful and intensely itchy. So I give him this and tell him it's small enough to stash in his lunch bag at work and no one will be any wiser. He's been using this product (in conjunction with another, more fluid moisturizer) for about a month and his hands are no longer beet red and cracked. He maybe has one small spot on each hand that's still bothering him, but it's a feat that some of the highest rated and most expensive products didn't reach.
The one thing to know is that a little bit of this goes a long ways, and the product is very thick so you have to rub it briskly between your hands to warm it up and make it easier to spread around.
