Professional Japanese mountain climbers use this all-over moisturizer to keep their skin protected when they’re scaling Mount Everest, so you know there must be something special about it. Invented by a pharmacist back in the 1950’s, Yu-Be has been Japan’s top-selling skin cream for over fifty years. Great for head-to-toe hydration, it helps with all forms of stubborn dryness, including flaky red skin, chapped lips, and callused feet. The natural formula is free of ingredients like artificial dyes, fragrances, and petrolatum. It’s so gentle that even infants and kids can safely use it.
If you are familiar with Austalia's Lucas PawPaw Ointment, Yu-Be reminds me of it. Its texture is similar, and it's a MacGygiver product, which I always love since I travel for work constantly. Yu-Be absorbs beautifully and works to soften all over, as a lip balm, as a sunburn soother, and (in a pinch) even as a shaving cream. Plus, I'm a sucker for packaging!
Wasn't anything special enough that I would buy. Decent moisturizer but actually made my lips peel3
This moisturing cream is smooth and soft on your skin. I think of it as skin butter. It seems to melt right into your skin to give your skin a feeling of softness and it seemed to work very well to relief any dryness of the skin too.4
Keeps my dry skin moisturized and in great shape all day. Huge plus, I only have to use a small amount5
this was a life saver for my super dry skin and lips this winter. I put it on under lip sticks that are a little dry as well. Love it.4
It saved me during this brutal winter. Dry elbows, nose, anything! You name it, this cream fixes it. Absorbs into my skin quickly so I'm not left with a layer of grease.5
My skins is always dry and there are very few moisturizing products that I've found to work on it. This was really amazing though! I decided to use it on my feet because my skin is also very sensitive and I'm always paranoid about having a reaction. It really moisturized them well, especially since they had become dry and calloused from too much rock climbing :)5
This was a great sample to get during the winter. Really helped with my dry skin. Doesnt have the nicest smell but thats only a minor problem4
This gets swiped from my makeup bag on a regular basis :)
There's a camphor aroma when you first apply this cream, which I love, but isn't for everyone. You don't need to use much, as it's super-intense, and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy
I'm intrigued by the scent of this cream--reminds me of mentholatum or something from my childhood. It's nice, and the cream is medium thick, soaking in quickly. My trouble is I collect hand creams and lotions and I can't find enough about this one to make it rise above the others I've tried/use now. Given its cost, that's compelling.3
