We're always skeptical when products promise the sun and the moon, but Dr. Jart's Premium Beauty Balm truly delivers. A four-in-one primer, moisturizer, sunscreen, and treatment serum, the formula helps you cut down on the grooming clutter. This tinted balm uses adenosine to improve skin's elasticity and arbutin to brighten and even out skin tone. An antioxidant bio-peptide complex provides anti-aging properties and promotes collagen production, while titanium dioxide and zinc oxide add broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.
I wasn't sure how to use the beauty balm, but I put it on after my moisturizer. I liked that it had SPF45, esp as I bike to work. It went on really heavy and dark, but after I rubbed in, I didn't notice anything. I don't usually use a foundation, and I was hoping this would control shine, but didn't.3
This provides just enough coverage that I don't need anything else. I apply on certain locations: nose area, under eyes and chin. It blends well with my nature pale skin tone5
I was really hesitant to use any face creams, since I would say my routine is very low maintenance, but I was pleasantly surprised that I liked this product. It isn't thick or sticky so it doesn't look cakes on.4
I love using this product. It's feels good on my skin, not too greasy, and I like how it's an all-in-one product, would buy.4
Let’s break it down. Does this work as a primer? I have no idea, seeing as how I rarely wear actual foundation… but it was just tinted enough to even out my skin tone a little bit, so that was good enough for me. Does it work as a moisturizer? It’s fairly lightweight and didn’t seem to “sink in” at all, so no, not really. Does it work as a sunscreen? I honestly have no idea as I spend most of my days indoors, but I don’t think I’d ever slather it on thick enough to serve as a substitute for good old fashioned just-sunscreen. Does it work as a treatment serum? Um, I have no idea what that even means….
It’s fine as basically a tinted moisturizer, but I’m skeptical about the other claims and not willing to spend almost $40 for a long-term test.
I'm not much for foundation or similar products, but I gave this a go. I felt like the tone didn't really go with my skin and it required a lot of blending. The tone was yellowish and I have pink undertones.3
This stuff is great! It evens out my skin tone in a light but natural way! A little goes a long way! Worth the money! :)5
At first this moisturizer was perfect for my sensitive skin but only after a few days did big cysts appear on my face. I was so sad to part with such a great product.3
I'm not a huge product user. I have my go to basics and occasionally spice it up on the weekends. When I received this tinted sunscreen first thought was who uses this?!? Now that I've tried it, I'm in love. Simple, blends well, and makes your complexion look great. I now understand how some people look so good at the beach!4
While it evens out my skin tone and is a nice base for bronzer and blush, it's really heavy for a beauty balm. It felt thick and didn't appear to last all day like I was hoping it would. It lasted about four hours before I had to redo my makeup... It did moisturize my dry skin though, so that was a bonus.3
